Or were people pocketing bribes personally? If it's the latter, I can see prosecution. Oh no, they were taking bribes. I just don't see why its illegal for a teacher/coach to do it, but not the school. "Let my son in and I'll pay you a **** ton of money" is a bribe no matter who receives it. I've heard some people argue about students losing spots at that same school...wouldn't someone ALSO lose their spot if the bribe went through the school?
