James was in my LAV unit- a reserve light armored infantry unit from Frederick MD, activated for desert shield. We were the first mechanized unit to enter Kuwait because of a rescue operation of foot recon Marines shortly before the breach, which we also participated in, marking the lanes into Kuwait through the minefields.
