White Signed; Elisara to Practice Squad

The Redskin have signed offensive lineman Mitch White to the 53-man roster and re-signed offensive lineman Pita Elisara to the practice squad.

White, 6-4 and 311 pounds, spent the 2003 season off-season and training camp with Tampa Bay but was released prior to the start of the regular season. He had a brief stint with the Redskins earlier this year.

In 2002, White had practice squad stints with Green Bay, New Orleans and New York Jets. In 2001, he was inactive for nine games with the Saints before being signed to the practice squad. He joined the NFL as a sixth round draft pick by New Orleans in 2001 (185th overall). He started all 23 games of his college career at right tackle and was named second-team All-Pac 10 as a senior at Oregon State.

Elisara, 6-4 and 305 pounds, was on the active roster for last Sunday's game against Seattle but was released on Monday. The previous week, Elisara rejoined the Redskins after spending the 2003 offseason and training camp with the team. He appeared in all four pre-season games for Washington in 2003. He has had stints with Philadelphia and New York Giants, and was a two-year starter at Indiana. He hails from American Samoa.
