Zguy28
http://www.iknowtoday.com/2014/10/08/college-tuition-germany-abolished/ As of October 2, higher education in Germany is free. German and international students as well, can now study in Germany without having to worry about its high costs. On Wednesday, Lower Saxony eliminated tuition fees and became the last of the seven states of Germany to do so. Education in Germany had been quite accessible before as well. If we were to compare the cost of higher education in the United States and Germany, the differences would surprise anyone. Check the link for more. PeterMP
I think that is doable here , but Germany is in a serious downward spiral ......Prosit Komrades Well, with respect to state/public institutions, it is completely doable here. Its just a matter of balancing resources and taxes. Research at the university level is rare in Germany (separate institutions do that for the most part) and so are sports (school) teams. It would probably make sense to keep the sports that make money for the relevant school, but get rid of the rest (for DII and DIII essentially eliminate sport programs and even for DI everything but football and basketball goes for the most part), gut research facilities, and then raise taxes to cover tuition.
