endzone_dave
Anyone catch this on the History Channel? Great stuff. I though tthe last two that depicted the life of Jesus were very inspirational. Not sure how it could have been done any better.
airborneskins
I have watched all but the last 2 hours. I will probably watch that sometime this week. Overall, I think that it has been a good series.
MattFancy
I've watched them all except for last night, have it on DVR. But it's been a great mini-series. It comes out tomorrow on blu-ray and DVD.
airborneskins
http://http://tv.yahoo.com/news/-the-bible--crucifixion-scenes-brought-48-snakes-and-a-life-changing-experience-for-diogo-morgado-211712546.html "We had snakes and scorpions on the set, and we had a snake man whose job it was to clear the set of snakes," Downey says. "Maybe on any given day, he would clear one or two snakes from any given location. On the morning of the crucifixion, when I got up to the set, he called me aside, and he had a writhing bag on the road … he had pulled 48 snakes from the foot of the cross that morning! Other incidents on the production -- a huge wind suddenly kicked up on an otherwise still night during the filming of a scene in which Jesus tells Nicodemus, "The Holy Spirit is like the wind"; and an irreplaceable part of one of Jesus's costumes floated away during filming but was returned several days later by a young boy who had traveled quite a distance to return it I found these 2 points interesting. grhqofb5
At the very least the stories are entertaining. I'm sure there's quite a bit of license being taken, so I view it with a grain of salt. Thought the Abraham stuff was interesting and well done. Got a feeling for the desperation of the people. Same with the Moses segment.
DM72
It was phenomenal. I'm not the most religious person, I understand a lot more than I did. ---------- Post added April-1st-2013 at 06:22 PM ---------- It was phenomenal.
