Pentagon Memorial Families Express Gratitude and Appreciation for Washington Redskins Support and Generosity

Washington, D.C. -- (September 9, 2011) – Today the Washington Redskins invited Pentagon Memorial families to tour Redskins Park, observe a practice session and meet and greet the coaching staff and players. The Redskins are also providing Pentagon Memorial family members transportation and tickets to the September 11th game against the New York Giants. Before Sunday’s game, there be a ceremony to honor the lives lost on that tragic day of September 11th, 2001 and many of the Pentagon Memorial victims’ family members have been invited to participate.

“I think I speak for all the family members involved with the Pentagon Memorial when I express our sincerest appreciation to the Redskins organization for today’s experience and Sunday’s activities,” said James J. Laychak, president of the Pentagon Memorial Fund, whose brother David Laychak was killed in the attack on the Pentagon. “In those terrible days that followed September 11th, football and being a Redskins fan offered many local Pentagon families a unique comfort, a sense of normalcy and a break from awful grief. The support and kindness that the Redskins continue to show the Pentagon Memorial families 10 years after that tragic event is another example of just how special a sports organization they are. We will always be very grateful for their support.”
