Baculus
That is funny -- I just helped my sister with this exact issue. Yes, Comcast appears to be having name resolution issues. I had her use OpenDNS addresses, one of which is the 208.67.220.220 address that you just gave. (The first one, 8.8.8.8, is a Google DNS address.) Thirtyfive2seven
What the hell is it with Sisters? mine called me from the Boston area - same problem Thanks for identifying the 8 IP - I wasn't sure who the hell it was only that it worked
No Excuses
You are a life saver. Had a paper to write and the piece of **** Comcast internet failed at the worst possible time. Couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the internet to work when both the modem and the router showed normal activity. Thanks a lot!

Ahmayzin
Too bad you don't have an answer for my crappy cable service. Took a year for them to fix my On Demand. Was missing 20+ channels for about 8 months. Just fixed that. What's worse, is it's the only cable service available in my neighborhood.
fullnelson9999
Why do people still even have Comcast? Seriously.
No Excuses
Why do people still even have Comcast? Seriously. I wish I had a choice to get rid of them but it is the only service provided in my apartment towers. I am absolutely sick of them.
fullnelson9999
I wish I had a choice to get rid of them but it is the only service provided in my apartment towers. I am absolutely sick of them. I know how you feel. When I was at college we could only get Comcast, and it was a nightmare. The internet would go out weekly, and the TV was terrible. Thankfully I'm at home with Fios now.
EnFoRcEr_uPu
I came across this last night, but dealing with computers every day, I didn't feel like fixing it, lol. Thank goodness for tethered blackberry's!
