Golgo-13
I remember around draft time some of us were throwing around the idea of trading our pick or Smoot away for Shaun Rogers. I'm just wondering what you guys would be willing to give up for him now that we are over a barrell with regards to the dline? Next year's first rounder? Thoughts? Coach Williams
all this trade talk is giving smoot a better reason than money to play......his pride and rep.
Golgo-13
I wasn't refering to Smoot per say. I was just wondering if you guys thought that Rogers would be worthwhile to pursue at this point and what you would be willing to give up to get him. bulldog
let's not forget the reason Rogers was available is because he is 330 pounds and has a foot that has undergone major surgery with pins inserted to provide stability weight problems that can compound existing health problems? I don't think we need to go in this direction do you? Next year's #1 pick? You have to be kidding. Even if the Skins make the playoffs we are still looking at a pick around #20. That is the HEALTHY DE or DT we need for the next 5-7 years
Golgo-13
I wasn't advocating the position per say. I was just throwing it out there to see what you thought one way or another. I suspected that was the way most would respond.
Even Madder
Beggars can't be choosers. Shaun Rogers could be a big help -- he did have ankle, thumb, and back injuries, and probably some more I can't think of -- but he's still gotta help. Not gonna be cheap though. inmate running the asylum
Well Shaun Rogers even with all his problems, still figures to start for the Lions. So you would have to give up at least a #2 pick for him. Especially being that he was a 2nd round pick to begin with. I would do it. Nothing like Om's swill to cool you off on a hot summer day. :40oz:
bulldog
a #2 pick for us next year is a projected starter and hopefully a healthy one at that Rogers hasn't been a very consistent performer in the NFL, mixing in 50% good with 50% bad. you combine that inconsistency (which reminds me of Wilkinson) and those health issues (why did we not resign Gardener? ) and I come up with a 'pass' on this one. inmate running the asylum
Well how about a #5 pick for Grady Jackson of New Orleans then, who had 5.5. sacks last year? :40oz:
bulldog
how about $10 and a bag of peanuts for Jackson?
inmate running the asylum
Yeah I'll take the $10 and bag of peanuts. You got my address? Luca Brasi??? I thought he was sleeping with the fishes.

Cskin
Backwash and a partially digested Crytal-meth tablet for Rogers. Bulldog is right. Wait... I agreed with Bulldog, make that a bit of backwash for Rogers.
inmate running the asylum
Read my lips Bulldog. :nana: Just this morning I told you the Redskins FO was comtemplating trading for Grady Jackson or Shaun Rogers. And lo and behold in the evening Washington Post....... sure enough we see that Grady Jackson and Shawn Rogers are mentioned as trade possibilities. http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A5105-2003Jul30.html I told you guys that I got the inside scoop and Bulldog is over the hill. :rotflmao: And I also see where BallCoachSpurrier was out walking Bulldog in the neighborhood and he didn't pick up after him! Why not re-sign him for another cheap 1 year contract?
Cskin
Because Dotson ruptured his Achilles Tendon and at his age would never be able to come back from such a catastrophic injury. Santanna has never been part of the equation.
