Larry Posted August 5, 2009 Share Posted August 5, 2009 Arthur Clarke, when he wrote articles about how the book/movie 2001 had changed society, claims that the astronauts of Apollo 8, whien they became the first people ever to see the far side of the Moon, (and were blocked from radio contact with Earth), discussed, when they re-established contact, radioing back the discovery of a large, black, monolith on the far side of the Moon, but decided against it.
