how about you just sit back and let me be me and I will let you be you. I wont try to make you tell me how you are going to act from now on and you can do the same. I will just either enjoy talking to you or I will just move on to the next thread where I do like talking to you.

I'm NOT forcing anything on you Mike.

I hear ya there.:)

Since this thread has already been long jacked, question for ya.

My Dad was talking last night about a couple of things in relation to gay marriage and the Catholic church. First was the 8th century, they allowed men to marry each other because of not having enough women and the other was about Pope Joan and once the found out she was pregnant(hence not a woman) they beat her to death and still have a chair, where new popes have to sit to be checked for the male equipment.

Is that all true?

I don't think so.

My Dad said there is a plaque hanging on that street. Who knows, I could see why that would be buried and passed as myth.

What about the marry guys thing?

As far as I know, the church has always held up marriage as only definable as one man and one woman joined. This is based on the Scriptures which predate the church and which Jesus quoted in His teaching.

Here's an interesting little blog on it.

I don't want to read right now, but thanks. I'm still a little hung over. :)

Can't you just give me my facts and allow me to twist them as I choose?

Alright, some Roman Catholic guy who happened to be gay and an historian from Yale thought same-sex unions were sanctioned by the church in history and wrote a book about it in an attempt to reconcile his gayness and his religion.

Or something like that.

Thanks, that's what I was looking for.

Can I still blame the Turkey for my laziness? :ols:

Nope. But I guess watching the Cowboys and Eagles both blow out teams last night (which the Skins seem incapable of doing :( ) could make you kind of lazy and depressed.
