FearDaSpear
I know. I didnt happen. But what if it did? Say Dallas recovers that onside kick, hits a fg and wins. It was very possible. Would the media still be up on us all of the sudden? We are ranked high in everyone's power rankings this week. If we lost, would people still think we are "for real." I think we may have cracked around 10 or so, but not as high as we are now. Anyone else wanna chime in?

skinsfan83
I'd say probably 18-
ljs
The thing is, we didn't lose. I can see us speculating after a loss, "what if we won". But why speculate if we lost. Not trying to be rude, but like the other poster said, who cares?
FearDaSpear
Really? That low? WE still would have played the #1 team ( in the eyes of most) very tough. Should at least warrant a modest bump in the rankings dont ya think?
IONTOP
28... We would have lost to an obviously overrated Cowboys team who didn't run the ball at all and was one dimensional...
Saqs
Well going by what happened to Philly after they lost to Dallas, we'd be in the top 3.
FearDaSpear
I'm just curious to see if most think this love lately is only due to the fact we WON. If we played them tough, but lost, it wouldnt be much of a story in my eyes (in the media)
Zhouse
We would still be hovering around 15-20. I don't think much would change because we were expected to lose to the "#1" team. But the ranks obviously do no mean much because that game could have gone either way (like you said if they recover the onside it could've been a different result....on the flipside if we scored a touchdown instead of FG on those holding calls it also could have been a different ball game)
authentic
honestly, i really don't care. because even though we are #6 this week on ESPN's rankings, if we lose against Philly then we may drop down to 11 or 12 depending on how bad the loss is. All i'm concerned about is wins. Rankings are just the window dressing.
FearDaSpear
By Power rankings, I'm essentially meaning (media's eyes). To me it is just amazing how high we jumped in the view of ESPN and others due to a big win, that could have went the other way. I'm just wondering if ended up 27-26, would they still be up on us as much as they are now.

The only thing that seems to really count is whether you win or lose. Heck, I'd bet we fans would be hatin' on the 'Skins. Big story would be how Dallas played a terrible game and still won, the subtext being that we suck and Dallas would get even greater SB buzz.
