Stone Cold
from lenny the hut's latest... " Shane Matthews might have a tough time securing a roster spot as a backup quarterback in Tampa Bay, but he's been a big help already to Bucs coach Jon Gruden. Although Gruden is himself an offensive mastermind, it seems he wants to learn more about the Steve Spurrier-designed "fun-and-gun" attack. Matthews played for Spurrier at Florida, and last year in Washington, and is tutoring Gruden on some of the offense's nuances." reminds me of the scene in happy gilmore when shooter mcgavin secretly attempts to emulate happy's unorthodox swing  ...will other coaches have the same result as shooter? codeorama
That's a pretty good compliment from Gruden, having just won a SuperBowl.

NavyDave
Yeah it will keep us up at night with thoughts of Jaquez green, matthews and B Johnson attempting to roll up points in the fun and gun
skinsblitz
Well you gotta love that about Gruden even if you aren't a Bucs fan. This guy will try anything to get an edge. He knows Spurrier's offense will work if you have the right players. So maybe he sees the 'Skins as a potential threat in the NFC this season? TC4
They better add some "Fun 'N' Gun" WRs with lots more speed if they are gonna run that in Tampa.
codeorama
I doubt that Gruden is planning on running the fun and gun, But like any good coach, he is trying to find ideas that he can use to make his offense better.
NavyDave
Hopefully they will regress while some team like the Falcons take it to another level, except when they play us.
Skins57
That shows me that other coaches believe and respect SS system. This is cool.
National Defense
gruden is not trying to copy it, he is trying to figure out how best to stop it.

I think it's a little of both- he loves studying strategy and obviously Spurrier has caught his eye.
