Durant35
I have a HP scanner and I want to scan a document. I know how to use the scanner, that is not the problem. I need to scan a document that has text. My scanner by default scans all items as a picture file or JPEG. Re-typing it is not on option. Are there any programs or ways that can turn the scanned items back into msword format or some kinda of text so I can edit it? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!!!! MonkeySkin
Click on the start button, go to settings, then control panel. Double click the scanner utility icon, click on the output type tab and select scan to doc format.

GibbsFactor
You need to OCR it.
Baculus
Yeah, if the document is scanned to a .doc, the document will be first scanned as an OCR document, which will then covert to text as a Word .doc.
