Compare the guys Gibbs brought in to the likes of people who were brought in prior to '04. We've gotten far more production per dollar out of these guys than the likes of Trung Candidate, Jeff George, Jaquez Green, et al.

You and many others just don't get it. You need to strive for a championship if you are going to achieve it. Not just a little better than before. Yes, you need to take steps to get there, but look at our team's age and the cap situation. We are not on the right track or moving in the right direction, and we are locked into a payday lender type cycle situation. After we restructure another bunch of contracts, we will get down under the cap again. We will be paying for the last few years mistakes many years into the future. We may be able to sign this years draft picks without trading down, I don't know. But what kind of money is going to be left over for improving the team?

BTW, Trung was a far better producer than Duckett. We didn't give 2 picks for him and pay millions either. And Jeff George could have passed for more than 50 yds in that playoff win against Tampa. Archuletta the highest paid safety in the history of the NFL? Lloyd, Barrow, Brunell...Gibbs didn't pick Tyler Jenkins, but he kept him on the roster for 2 freakin years. Every coach makes personnel mistakes. Ours broke the bank with his.

He was fired from Baltimore because Brian Billick needed a scapegoat for failing to develop Kyle Boller into anything resembling a Quarterback-like substance.

Who knows why he hasn't been hired again. Maybe the same reasons why Spags and Meeks have never been hired as a head coach. Who knows.
