redman
Why does he get so much credit for being a great receiving TE? I think his hands are average at best. He drops a lot of balls for being "the next Jay Novacek". Route running and speed only get you so far. Eventually you have to catch the damn ball! RySkins
Alexander has been above-average in production, at least when healthy, but in my eyes he has yet to play to his potential.
bulldog
what Alexander has lacked is game to game consistency. He will follow up a fine game with an uninspired effort where he drops balls in the open field or fumbles when getting hit. It all comes down to concentration. On the positive side, he has gained some weight and strength and is a better blocker this year than in the past. So, he has been working. Whether he becomes the next Jay Novacek or the next Rickey Dudley is still up in the air. The Redskins have a decision to make on Alexander after this season. bulldog
Rasby is getting a lot more looks in the passing game than I ever anticipated. Without checking the stats, in terms of distribution he seems to be near the opportunities afforded the starting receivers so far.
Brave
Alexander hasn't had a well-performing QB throwing to him since the first half of '99 which, coincidentally, was his highest level of play (before his injury). That's no excuse for dropping catchable balls, but these things can be forgiven in the preseason ... that's what it's for after all.
Chris 44
May be so, but if Alexander had a rookie pre season like this pre season would he have made the team? Im just real disapointed in him this far.
joe
Alexander has not looked good and this is reason for concern. But his are the type of mental errors that Marty excells at correcting. We shall see.
The Dark Horse
Alexander dropped two passes last night. It was rather strange for him. The man had a bad night. Happens to the best of them sometimes. But to say he has average hands is kinda silly. He makes catches that other tight ends don't even attempt to make. ------------------ <IMG SRC="http://old.theinsiders.com/redskins/images/wash2-sm.gif" border=0>
hailredskinscom
Alexander will be fine. The problem isn't him, the problem is accuracy from George and George ghaving the time to throw. Lst night he dropped two. We all have our bad days. ------------------ Please visit my new Skins site, Mark's Redskins Net.
