.As I've been reading this year on this board, there's been MANY comments on Joe Gibbs "coaching scared". I found this article in the Denver Post interesting on the same subject but different coach. Mike Shanahan. I really dispise the Broncos but have always felt Mike to be a good coach. But now even in the promised land of Denver, is Mike feeling the heat of what Gibbs is being accused of?

.So, what I'm wondering is, is it a state of the "must win" NFL fans, the ridicule of the media, the chance of getting fired by the owners for lack of patience for winning, the cost of fielding a team, what is it?? It just seems like the NFL has lost something over the past few years.

When a coach goes on 4th down or for a 2 point conversion it makes the the highlight reel. Or even the top 10 espn plays. Every move a coach makes, every decision on a player whether by draft or FA signing is questioned adnauseam by various experts that have never had to make a decision like that in thier life.

.Has the NFL become as predictable as is being said? Even in watching a game the announcers predict the next play. If it works they say it was the right decision, if it doesn't it's because it wasn't ran right. If the coach does something different and it doesn't work it was a stupid decision. If it does, the the announcer is left with his foot in his mouth and it's funny.

What makes the New Englands different from the Wasingtons different from the Jets? Is there a big disparity in talent? Injuries? Or is it scared coaches?
