THIS FREAKIN' MAKES MY DAY!!!!!

Let's lighten up around here people! We have 2 important tie breakers against the Lions and Cards, and we have a much easier road ahead.

Those are head to head tie breakers, not multiple team, unless we get in a 3 way tie with Detroit and Arizona. We need to keep wining games, particularly NFC ones.

The only problem is that stats don't play games. The Redskins regardless of who they have played....are still not playing well and they still have to play Tony Romo sits to pee twice and Manning once. They have to face the Bears defense. and they still have a game with Philly which is always a nailbiter regardless of who the QB is.

Think its an easy schedule if you like but the main focus should be on playing well and executing because if we don;t do that we won't even beat the Jets.

I thought record for NFC games is the deciding factor in the event of a tie..

TO BREAK A TIE FOR THE WILD-CARD TEAM

If it is necessary to break ties to determine the two Wild-Card clubs from each conference, the following steps will be taken.

If the tied clubs are from the same division, apply division tie breaker.

If the tied clubs are from different divisions, apply the following steps.

Two Clubs

Head-to-head, if applicable.

Best won-lost-tied percentage in games played within the conference.

Best won-lost-tied percentage in common games, minimum of four.

Strength of victory.

Strength of schedule.

Best combined ranking among conference teams in points scored and points allowed.

Best combined ranking among all teams in points scored and points allowed.

Best net points in conference games.

Best net points in all games.

Best net touchdowns in all games.

Coin toss.

Three or More Clubs

(Note: If two clubs remain tied after third or other clubs are eliminated, tie breaker reverts to step 1 of applicable two-club format.)

Apply division tie breaker to eliminate all but the highest ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. The original seeding within a division upon application of the division tie breaker remains the same for all subsequent applications of the procedure that are necessary to identify the two Wild-Card participants.

Head-to-head sweep. (Applicable only if one club has defeated each of the others or if one club has lost to each of the others.)

Coin toss

When the first Wild-Card team has been identified, the procedure is repeated to name the second Wild-Card, i.e., eliminate all but the highest-ranked club in each division prior to proceeding to step 2. In situations where three or more teams from the same division are involved in the procedure, the original seeding of the teams remains the same for subsequent applications of the tie breaker if the top-ranked team in that division qualifies for a Wild-Card berth.

It's pretty clear that we ain't winning no division title this year.

So if we have the same record as the giants and only one of us can get the sixth seed, the team with the better division record gets in?

Let's say the same scenerio but with Detroit. If we both have the same record, the team that beat the other gets in?

This guy is absolutely stoned. He fails to mention that the redskins have gotten beaten by all the teams with winning records except the lions. We escaped miami at home in overtime!!! They are winless. The Giants beat us in our house after we led by two touchdowns at half!!! The patriots (Ill stop there). Its cute to move numbers around but the strength of schedule isnt going to save us this year. We still have dallas twice and if we thought it was tough to beat the Giants after getting a 14 point lead at half try it in New York when we start at 0-0 with a full 60 minutes to play. By the way, the eagles beat the cowboys this week and they come in our house and beat us next week. Lastly, we lose to the Jets this week we aren't seeing .500 again the rest of the year. Hope this isnt too gloomy. HAIL!

If we are tied with the Giants, and we have been swept by them, we don't get in even if we have a better NFCE record.

If we are in a 3 way tie with Detroit and the Giants, same rules apply first between us and the Giants without factoring in Detroit. If we go 1-1 against teh Giants and have a better division record then they get eliminated. We would then win the head to head tie breaker against the Lions.

The odds of ALL 3 of us ending tied are remote...more than likley Arzona will fade or barely win their division...but the Lions tie break will be HUGE. Obviously they are a game up on us right now, but they have a much tougher scheulde down the stretch...I could easily see us both ending up 9-7 or 10-6...it could be the KEY!

The pukes are yet to beat a team that has had a winning record at the time they played.

We need to take care of Tampa as well when we go there for our annual trip.

So the game against the Giants is essentially a must win right? Unless they have the clear cut 5th seed and we compete with Detroit for the 6th?

Another ESer that needs some prozac.

By your prediction (the Eagles beat the boys and us) the Eagles will have a winning record. So, add one more team with a winning record to the Redskins total.

Fact of the matter is, Detroit being 5-2 is a problem. Since we have the tiebreaker over them, and assuming Cowboys win the East, Giants get the 5th seed, and Detroit keeps winning, we're in for a battle with Detroit. We have to finish with at least the same record as them to get in.

Interesting I suppose and something I definately did not know but they haven't played poorly including their game against the Pats where they played significantly better than us. They also beat the giants which we couldn't do at home after getting a two touchdown lead with 30 minutes left to play. They have a strong offensive line, solid defense, sound QB play, strong wide outs, a probowl tight end. I HATE the pukes but they have a much more solid team right now than we do. So do the Giants as pathetic as that is to say.

I re-read my post and I notice that i didn't say that sentence the way I meant it. That should be interpeted as "IF the eagles beat the Cowboys, they will come into our house the next weekend and beat us." I wasn't saying that would happen, I meant if (A) than (B). Sorry.

We've only played SEVEN GAMES. The season is young. Anything can happen. Romo sits to pee could go down with a broken leg. The Washington Redskins can win the NFC East this year. To give up now is pathetic. Come on.

Look who they've played. They're going to flail. You'll see.
