Goober
I'll be coming to the game Sun. from Richmond, and was wondering where I could park without a parking permit. Can I still park where the USAir Arena was, and if so, which exit is that? Thanks in advance, Goob
laurent
I found that the easiest thing to do is parking at the metro station and then taking the bus into the stadium.
gbear
Laurent is very correct on that one. Not many people do it, and it's far enough away from the Stadium that traffic getting out isn't horrendous. As a side benefit, it's free! (I forget if you have to pay $1 for the bus). After the game, those buses are incredible ferrying people to the metro. It crouded, but they have their own lane and get you to the metro quickly. Of course then everybody crams on the metro. Few think to park there. Good luck.
Goober
Thanks for the info, guys! I assume you are referring to the metro station at Landover, correct? Thanks, and Go 'Skins!!!!
RySkins
Here is what I do every week... Forget USAir arena, there are some buildings just a little further from the stadium in the vicinity of USAir where you can park. One of these buildings has gotten smart enough to charge $15 to park, but the others have not. Just park there, then walk to the shuttle buses at USAir arena. It's free and it is much easier traffic-wise after the game.
The Sisko
My old mojo was to drive to Cheverly metro then take the shuttle buses. I tried the Landover Mall deal, but the cops direct you half way around he11 and back in order to get to the stadium. RySkins idea sounds pretty good. Too bad I didn't think of that one myself. The Mayor of Fed Ex Field
The DTC will arrive at Fed Ex Filed at 6:00 am on Sunday. We group together at the arena drive entrance next to Jericho Church. If you come that early, I can get you in the stadium without a parking pass. You must be wearing Redskin gear and you and your guest must sing Hail to the Redskins, the full song, before I get you in. S21
gbear
It's the metro off 202. The added nice part is the ease of getting back on the beltway. I'm not real sure which metro it is (on the orange line). It's the one they run the shuttles to.
