Mr. S
So my friend and I want to go on a trip sometime in late July. He starts a new job soon after that, and I go off to school as well. We don't want to spend much, trying to stay under $1000, but know it may cost close to $1500. At all costs we want to stay below that number. Some of our ideas included, Guatemala, Brazil, or any other Latin America country, Australia, Spain, Germany, Ireland/Britain, Iceland. We were not sure how feasible those are, cost wise or safety wise (we thought Guatemala may be unsafe). We're both 22/23 year olds who like history and ruins, but also like a good nightlife. Any thoughts and advice are appreciated as we are hopeing to plan a destination and a plane ticket soon. Thanks!
The 12th Commandment
Brazil would be good but it's an expensive, long flight. I'd recommend Costa Rica, right next to Guatamala but they use dollars and most people you're likely to run into speak english. There's ruins, rainforest, volcano and awesome beaches/night life. And really, really good fishing too! Have fun were ever you go!
Mass_SkinsFan
You know, if I thought you'd actually enjoy it, Pennsic is the first week in August. I'm not sure how that fits into your timeframe, but it would combine both the history and the nightlife AND be in your price range.
Burgold
At first I was thinking Yosemite. It's quite inexpensive to stay in the tent cabins and there are beautiful vistas, hiking, waterfalls, and whatnot... however, you won't find too many great clubs there. Sarge
Go to Germany. Plenty of castles in easy driving distance and always a night life somewhere
chascougs
Why not try an all inclusive in someplace like Belize? Great hiking, tubing, diving, ect... Could use it as a base, rent a vehicle and drive up to the Maya coast (Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, short launch over to Cozumel). Should be able to do it for under a 1000 each. Mr. S
I guess I should have specified for some of you that out of country is preferred, thanks though Mass and Burgold. We were thinking of Belize, haven't looked into Costa Rica though, but that sounds good. Germany would be ideal, but would end up costing more. I would love to go to a beerhall there though. Romania/Slovakia could work. Keep the ideas coming.
