It was obvious going into the season that we didn't have the personell to run the fun n' gun. But the defense?? Who would have expected this? In the offseason it looked like the DL was going to be the worst in the NFC East. I am actually a little surprised the D has been as good as it is. Lavar seems to make as many bad plays as good plays, Smoot was not as proven as many here believed, and the SS and WS are not legit NFL players. Gardner(sp?) has really impressed though. RyansRangers Posted December 15, 2002 Share Posted December 15, 2002 I think Marvin Lewis owes it to this Defense and to everyone who had faith in him at the begining of this year to stay another and fix the mess he made. He took a good solid D last year to a bunch of confused average defense that has the youth and talent to be great..
