[[ghost]]
If we pick up Michael Lewis, I'm trying out for the Redskins. And honestly, with Lewis's cover skills, I may actually beat him out.
Bizkiteer
Yeah another AA... a safety who can't cover at all. Any Def Coord that has a SS covering a WR one on one...should be find a new job. That is not a strength for any SS in the NFL. Philly asked M. Lewis to play away from his strengths, just as the 'Skins wanted from AA.
BKSkinsFan
People can talk about an upgrade at MLB all they want, IMO if you don't upgrade the d-line, anyone you put back there is going to be getting mauled by lineman all day. How many LBs do you honestly see in the NFL shedding blocks off of a 325+lb. offensive lineman? I like Golston and think he brings great depth at tackle, but the guy was getting pushed off the line consistently. Look at every good defense with a great MLB and you will see at least one stud big DT eating up blocks being the unsung hero giving that MLB the chance to fill that gap without being swallowed up by a guard. I guess these guys go unnoticed just like an offensive line does while the QB gets all the glory. Everyone's quick to say, build up a team through the offensive and defensive line, then once it's time to do so, they want a star playmaker and ignore the foundation. I can only hope that our staff fixes the weak foundation, which will enable our LBs who are the same guys that were part of the killer D we had previously to make more plays, and will stop the run creating more 3rd and longs where we can use GWs blitzes .. which in turn will be more effective when the o-line has more trouble picking them up due to our line demanding more attention. jtpop
To play the defense Williams prefers to play you have to get pressure with your DL and have corners who can cover and LB's who can tackle. Rogers has not shown he can cover a blocking TE much less a capable WR. Springs is not getting any younger and is constantly injured. Lemar Marshall is not the answer at LB, if you want an undersized LB who can tackle move Archuletta there. We need help across the board on defense so projecting who will be where is next to impossible.
deejaydana
What ever happened to "role players" ? We've already tried to build the most top heavy team in the league and look where it's gotten us. We don't have any $crilla to sign top FA's this offseason anyway, thank God. We will be paying for this salary cap destruction for awhile.
Riggo#44
DE: Bruce SmithDT: Sean Gilbert DT: Dana Stubblefield DE: Sterling Palmer OLB: Warrick Holdman MLB: Rod Stephens OLB: Greg Jones CB: Tom Carter CB: Mike Rumph SS: Stanley Richards FS: Mark Carrier Very funny! But needed a little tweaking. Seriously I would like to see this: DE: Carter DT: Griff DT: Branch (With Golston working in) DE: FA like Justin Smith WLB: Rocky MLB: Marshall SLB: Washington CB: Rogers CB: Hood - much smaller price than Clement or Samuels. SS: Springs/Prielou FS: Taylor
