We all know that the NFL season is very unpredictable. Every season there is a big story that dominates the headlines, usually something that defies odds. Here are some examples from past seasons:

1999 - A previously unknown QB Kurt Warner comes out of nowhere and leads the Rams to a Superbowl victory.

2001 - The Patriots start 0-2, lose their starting QB (Drew Bledsoe) and top WR (Terry Glenn) early in the season, but win the Superbowl led by sixth-round draft pick QB Tom Brady.

2002 - Jon Gruden wins the Superbowl against the team that he coached the previous year - the Raiders.

2005 - The Steelers are a wildcard team but win all three playoff games on the road, and then the Superbowl.

What do you think the big story will be? After the season, we can look back to see if anyone got it right (and see who has superhuman powers). Let's hear your stories, the crazier the better.

Here's mine:

2006 - The 13-3 Browns shock the NFL world, defeating the 49ers and RB Frank Gore (NFL MVP) in the Superbowl, ending the Browns long history of failure.

I predict that Larry Johnson is going to set a new record this year. I can't decide whether it's going to be for total yardage or TDs ..

I don't think Johnson will be as good as everyone thinks. The offense won't be the same and everyone expects them to run (stack the box). There's no real threat at receiver and no shifting in Edwards style offense. It just doesn't seem right; the offense will struggle.

Redskins reign supreme over NFL! A combination like never seen before in the NFL with Gregg Williams defense and Al Saunders offense lead by probably the greatest head coach in NFL history Joe Gibbs are set for a dynasty , winning this years superbowl and setting all time season records in most offensive and defensive catagories. (on a side note) T.O. broke the backs of the dallas cowboys emtionally tearing apart their locker room in mid season , is traded to the giants as Parcells resigns!

Dan Snyder Wins Free Agency Championship Again, but Fails to Make Playoffs!

Parcells quits coaching midway throught the season due to the Cowboys poor play and the disruption of Terrell Owens.

Eagles crumble after Mcnabb quits team. When asked why he decided to stop playing football he said "Have you ever been hit by Sean Taylor?"

Giants have terrible first ten games after Media pumps them up. After a huge win vs the Colts... Giants decide to take the regular season off.

This is my favorite story so far!

The senate oversight comittee subpoenas 45 NFL players to testify regarding the use of steroids in the NFL. Goodell realizes that Tagliabu (sp) dodged out of the office just at the right moment and slowly enters a deep depression going through all the covered up documentation of abundant steroid use by the cowboys and broncos offensive linemen.
