COOOOLEY!
Even Warren Moon thinks Art Monk should be in the Hall... He just said on the Pulse that its a shame art monk isnt in
terpfan
You notice its allways former players who side with Monk, and columnists who side agsint him. Wonder who knows more? I forget who it was who suggested that the HOF be voted on by its members, but I think thats a good idea.
DJCrash34
I just saw that myself, and thought the same thing. I still can't believe that Monk is not in yet, when so many people outside of us redskins fan give him the credit that the voters won't
elkabong82
Just to show you an example of the "logic" (yeah right) of one of these butt-munches in not letting Monk in (hint: he's a fan favorite) Scroll to the bottom of the page for the Monk info. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2005/writers/peter_king/01/17/mmqb.divisional/
GoCommiesGo
I dont understand why journalists voter for the Hall. I would tend to believe that players inducted already would have a better understanding of the game and what it takes to be great, than some dude sitting in front of a computer and t.v. typing an article. Having these people vote for the hall is pointless, mine as well send out flyers to every fan that has season tickets and a check list.
CRobi21
yeah i saw that too, at least some people know he should be in there
cactitle
The games a bit diffrent today then when Art played. More pass oriented teams which equate to more reception for WR. SO the argument that guy made doesnt impress me. Monk was a solid day and day out player who should have already been elected. Guess thats why I dont subscribe to S.I. spm
I think it comes down to bias against monk for not speaking to the press. Fewer supporters will stand up for Monk because he wasn't good friends with the journalists and most people who don't support Monk like him even less because they didn't know him. Sinclair
I hate that jouralists are the voters, these retards are so full of themselves they dont know who the f*ck deserves to be in or out.
Hail Gibbs
What a joke. Every player I have ever seen quoted says Monk deserves to be there. Apparently 8-9 sportwriters disagree. I guess the sportswriters would know best.
hamptonskinsfan
i agree that ex players should be the voters and not some wanna be player. these are the same guys that when we played pick up games would be the last to be picked (if they were even picked at all,) hell most of the time i would of played short than play with these guys. now they went to school to become journalists and they can pay back all the guys that picked on them. jmo. REDMAN7
He was asked, if he could pick ONE guy who its a shame has not been inducted yet...and out of every player never to make it in, he picks Art Monk. That says a ton coming from a HOF QB!

ECU-ALUM
Football beat-writers picking guys for the H-O-F is just nuts. It's kind of like letting William Shatner pick the crew for the next Space Shuttle mission. Let the guys who have played the game and gone one on one with these guys pick who goes in.
