JeffSchmeff
Ok, I'm going to Las Vegas for the first time ever on March 15th, just in time for the NCAAs. I've never been, so I was wondering whether anyone had any advice, such as Do's/Don'ts, places to check out, etc. Any info would be appreciated.
jwebst1
Do's: only take x number of dollars... that you are willing to lose.... Don'ts: bring your bank and/or ATM cards.....
jwebst1
I would also take some time and walk from casino to casino... pretty neat to look at.. oh, and have fun.
EersSkins05
Do: Go to Mandalay Bay to watch/bet on the games Don't: Expect to get more than two complimentary beers while watching those games Do: Rent a convertable and drive through the desert w/ the top down (unforgettable experience) Don't: Gamble at 100 dift. places. Pick one place you like, then get one of the comp cards as soon as you get there and give it to every dealer you have over the course of your stay. That's the way to get comped rooms, meals, shows, everything. Some casinos are tied together and one card works at several casinos... Just ask. Vegas gives away more stuff than most ppl ever realize- they just don't know to ask.
macnoke03
If you are going to see any shows I would recommend Mystere at Treasure Island - simply amazing. Blue Man Group is pretty cool too. Stay away from Zumanity at New York New York. If you're looking for cheap blackjack ($5 tables) go to the Saharra. Most casinos have $10 minimum tables especially at night. Use the monorail to get up and down the strip. Have a blast!
Gallntfox
Tropicana usually has a couple of $5 tables as well.....don't bother seeing Avenue Q at Wynn's....I didn't think that it was anywhere near worth the price. My wife LOVED the performance of Mama Mia at Mandalay...but then again what chick doesnt?
EersSkins05
There's a show in old vegas called "Showgirls of Magic" that we got complimentary tickets for, where the girls essentially come out, take their shirts off, and then saw someone in half. Very amusing stuff.... lol
JeffSchmeff
Thanks for the comments guys. Just so people know, I'm not bringing a girl with me. I'm going with some guy friends, so I'm not really limited in what I can do. I'd rather hit a strip bar than see the Blue Man Group, if you catch my drift. skinsfanevan
well i've been twice (i know, my age, i know) I honestly love Vegas so I cant imagine how fun it will be once i'm older. Both times was in the middle/end of July so it was insanely hot im not sure if its like that spring/summer. The Desert is cool, and since both times we got to Vegas was driving from family in orange county, i got the desert experience. Hoover Dam is pretty cool, and all of the hotels have chill stuff to do. Its just a fun city, you'll find things to do, just talk to people on the monorail and in lines for stuff. ZoEd
My wife works at the Paris Casino and I can probably get you some comps for the show, Jubilee, it's a show girl show remniscent of the original Vegas shows. By the way it's topless. If you're interested just PM me and I'll see what I can do for you. Outside of that it depends on what you want to do. Need a little more info to know what you're into to enable me to point you in the right direction. I don't want to send you to Cheetahs if you're not into nude dancers, you tracking me? I prefer to gamble on Fremont St. The old casino's have cheaper tables but they also have some hags for ****tail waitress'
MissU28
don't waste your money gambling on slot machines. Instead....they have No Bust Blackjack, and if you play it, if you lose a hand but the dealer loses too, you don't lose anything. I won 40 bucks playing that at the Hardrock, and I would have probably won more but we had to go to dinner.
