fdarugar
Ok, so we are strapped for cap, we make some cuts and this is who we sign... WR - Jabar Gaffney 55 rec, 492 yards, 2 tds WR - Az-Zahir Hakim 34 rec, 489 yards, 2 tds DE - Aaron Kampman (our big signing) 82 tack, 6.5 sacks DE - Lance Johnstone 20 tack, 7.5 sacks (3rd down pass rush) Not necessarily the players I want but this is how I see things going down, two mid level players signed at our two weakest positions. fdarugar
gaffney yeshakim no Hakim has big play ability, and he missed four games last year and he has been consistant through out his career. I think he would be a good signing.
tmuten
Hakim could be the next santana, he is in the same mold, and has been underachieving like santana was
Hansenbj
I want Keisel from Pittsburgh at DE he will be cheap and he's got an non stop motor. Plus he plays a Greg Williams style.

spm
Hakim wouldn't be expensive and he did play pretty well last year for a horrible saints team. He's not a great starter type but might be nice as a 3rd receiver. Johnstone might be a good stopgap, but he's old and I'd trust the coaching staff if they don't think he has much left. No_Pressure
I dont want Gaffney because he was a Gator under Spurrier and they are almost all NFL flops and underachievers with the exceptions of a few.

ChiefPowhatan17
Our best bet is to draft a DE, who is young and fresh.

TheLongshot
alot of people dont like him, for reasons I dont know of He's another one of those guys who didn't scale up well after leaving his original team. Course, he's been on a couple of pretty bad offensive teams. Personally, I don't think he'd be a bad pickup, and maybe Saunders may have gleamed some way to use him when KC almost signed him. TheLongshot
hmmmm Saunders almost signed him, thats interesting. It was the Vermiel connection. It actually looked like he was going to go to KC, even showing up for minicamp, but he ended up going to the Saints. Jason
ADF
Wasn't Saunders Vermiel's WR coach when he coached the Rams? If so, I wouldn't be shocked if Hakim ended up here.

Honestly, with the money we have got he looks like he could be a decent pick up.
HoyaSkins28
I agree with drafting a DE, Gaffney sounds good, Hakim would be okay, bu I think regardless of which DE we get, a WR should be the main priority and the big signing this off season. Gaffney is really a prototype #2, in 2004 he had 41 rec, 632 yards, and 2 tds...better than any season Antwaan Randle El has ever had.
Chrisbob74
Speaking of Saunders, I wonder if he would talk Joe into taking a look at Marc Boerigter? He looked half decent as a rookie a few years bak but has had a few bad injuries since. He could be a very cheap option that also is helped by knowing Saunders system although he has a lot of risk about him. Like I say, a cheap chance........... TheLongshot
Speaking of Saunders, I wonder if he would talk Joe into taking a look at Marc Boerigter? I'd like to see it too, but it depends if Boerigter actually wants to continue to play in the NFL, or go back to Canada. If he does play, it wouldn't be surprising if it was here. Sweet Sassy Molassy
Looking at Gaffney's production in a horrid offense. I would lean more toward him. He's younger, taller, and more productive.
