Joe Sick
http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/story/9112742/rss Major League Baseball officials reapplied on Thursday for a permit that would allow Cuba to join next year's inaugural World Classic as Puerto Rican athletic officials said San Juan should withdraw as a host city if the Cubans aren't allowed to participate. In Miami, a congressman who opposes Fidel Castro's communist government met with several major league players, hoping to form a team of Cuban defectors that could play in the 16-team tournament. Isn't China playing in this tourney too? Isn't Puerto Rico part of the US?

prophet
PR is joke... they get all our benifits, and vote......, and yet don't have to pay taxes. They voted a few years ago about becoming a state, and wildly enough it didn't pass.
HSF
PR is joke... they get all our benifits, and vote......, and yet don't have to pay taxes. They voted a few years ago about becoming a state, and wildly enough it didn't pass. Clarifications: PUERTO RICAN SOLDIERS CAN DIE IN IRAQ BUT CANNOT VOTE FOR THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. PUERTO RICANS ONLY VOTE FOR LOCAL POLITICAL OFFICIALS LIKE GOVERNORS, SENATORS AND MAYORS. PUERTO RICANS PAY TAXES ON VARIOUS IMPORTED GOODS SUCH AS CARS, JEWELRY. NEWLY ESTABLISHED LAWS HAVE PUERTO RICANS PAYING SALES TAX IN ONE CITY AND SOON TO BE IMPLEMENTED IN OTHER CITIES AND TOWNS. CURRENTLY PEOPLE ARE TAXED 33% OF THEIR SALARY. SEE THE WASHINGTONPOST AND OTHER NEWSPAPERS AND READ THE NEWLY PROPOSED SENATE PLAN ON A NEW REFERENDUM FOR PUERTO RICO. CONGRESS IS ULTIMATELY RESPONSIBLE FOR DECIDING OUR STATUS. Art Monk Fan
Three reasons not to piss off HSF: 1. She's sexy, dammit! 2. She's Huly's friend 3. She made me a damn good cup of coffee on a really cold tailgate morning. :2cents:
