Skin'emAlive
Can someone please explain to me the under 2 minute rule at the end of the game with penalties. San Diego was driving at the end of the game with i think somewhere around 10 seconds or more left in the game and were called back 5 yards back for a offensive false start. I thought if you commit a penalty with that much time left, there is a 10 second runoff. Why was there no runoff?

softballs
the clock was already stopped from the play before. think it was an incompletion.
skinsfan00atg
It depends on the penalty to deserve a run off. Intentional grounding is one example where 10 seconds is run off, but its not for all penalties
FunBunch7
They only run 10 seconds off if the clock is running when the foul is committed.

RedskinzOwnU
No, the penalty works for a false start too. I think because the score was tied that might make a difference - it may only apply to teams that are losing and have no timeouts. Would be best to find the rule, cause I know they used it against arizona earlier in the year for a false start within 10 seconds. and the game ended because of it.
