How bout on the road in 2001 against the 12-4 Bears who had the bye? They were 6 point favorites or something and McNabb might have had his best day as a pro.

Favre of 1997, sure. The Favre of now makes 3 bad decisions for every good decision he makes when it's clutch time.

He ended GBs 2003 season single handedly. Forget 4th and 26.

took the words right outta my mouth.

LOL..you mean the Bears team that won two games on hail mary's and went 4-12 the very next year?

They may have been favorites at the time, but the were not for real by any stretch of the imagination.

Seriously, stop trying to argue that it's not Brady. It is Brady.

Brady has bested Manning more than once in the playoffs.

No, "Brady" hasn't. Brady's team has beaten Manning's team more than once in the playoffs. If that means that Brady is better than Manning, it also means that the Patriots have the best player at every position, which is absurd.

In fact, I would venture that the Patriots don't have the best player at ANY position - and that is why they win; they don't kill their salary cap with monster contracts handed out to the biggest superstars, but they get a bunch of players who are good enough at what they do so that none of them, Brady included, has to shoulder the load.

Ask yourself...when Brady was "besting" Manning, who was playing against the better defense? In fact, were the two defenses remotely close in talent?

Football is a team sport...the most team orientated of team sports. Since there are 21 other players on the field, and none of the 21 players who are on the field when Manning is playing are part of the 21 other players on the field when Brady is playing, to say that one QB has beaten the other is ridiculous.

BTW...I'm not trynig to say this means anything, but it's funny that Steve Spurrier managed to beat both of these QBs while he was in the NFL...

What about the fact that I don't think any team had more talent on offense than the Colts last year and yet they accomplished nothing against the Pats in the playoffs? The Eagles played a much better game against that defense in the Super Bowl and with a less talented offense. Manning's last game was a joke. The pressure was on and it showed.

Come playoff time anyone claiming Manning is better than McNabb or Brady is fooling themselves. Brady is the best hands down, pressure doesn't affect him.

I'm curious as to why certain QBs were on or off the list.

There were 30 QBs listed. Not all of the current starting QBs were listed (Harrington, Grossman, Alex Smith and JP Losman were omitted) and backups such as Garcia and Brunell made the list. If we're omitting players who are unrealistic choices, there are alot on that list that should have been dropped.

If I'm in a gunslinger situation, I take Favre

If you count Peyton Manning, then ya, the Colts do have the most talented offense in the League. But only because Manning makes everyone on his team better. Look at Brandon Stokely. Nice slot receiver for Baltimore, speedy guy, decent hands. Moves over to Indy and becomes a household name.

Let's take a look at that NE/Indy game, shall we.

Manning went 27/42, 238, 0-1. Nothing special, but hardly a dreadful performance. In fact, it's pretty damn impressive, considering:

Tom Brady only threw for 144 yards in those miserable conditions.

Edgerrin James had 14 carries for 39 yards, a tidy 2.9 YPC. Hence, Manning's ridiculous number of pass attempts (42? In a playoff game? In the snow?????). Compare that with Corey Dillon, who had 23 carries for 144 yards (6.3 YPC) and Kevin Faulk, who had 11 for 56 (5.1). No wonder Brady had a much more reasonable 27 pass attempts.

Make Tom Brady drop back and throw 42 times, and give Manning a ground attack that gained 5.9 yards per rush. Still think Brady wins?

If you complete 64% of your passes and you throw for 238 yards and your offense only scores three points, the fault lies elsewhere.

Manning could not make Edgerrin James have a reasonable game on the ground, and he couldn't make his receivers get open downfield, and he certainly couldn't stop Wayne and Rhodes from fumbling the ball away, and he definately couldn't do anything about the fact that the Colts' first possession of the 2nd half came with under two minutes to go in the third quarter.

Again, unless Manning finds a way to play all 22 positions, it's ridiculous to blame every loss squarely on him.

That's what being a leader is about, responsibility comes with the big contracts. He's going to get more credit than he deserves for the wins and also for the losses. You did leave out that Brady got two TDs. Brady definitely had a much better game than Manning.

If they shut down Edge, one of the best playing today, then they were daring Manning to beat them with his arm. He obviously could not. They had the best offense in the NFL. There is no excuse for being shut down the way they were. Clutch he is not.
