Timberob
In this day when all teams are trying to practice as much as possible, why are the Skins one of the last teams to start? The Bears were at work a full week ahead of us. Anyone know why we aren't in training camp now?
bulldog
Gibbs promised the players that if they kept to the offseason schedule and worked hard to complete the work, they would get a long break before starting camp. And he kept his word, as the Skins are one of the late starters.
MumboSauce
Doesn't matter when camp starts, all teams get the same amount of time I'm almost sure. Not only that but why not have it later, closer to pre-season and the reg season, while it's all fresh and guys can get into a groove. I could be wrong. bnacpa
Gibbs has talked about short, focused real intense practices. Last year he started early because it was his first year back and we had the extra preseason game. This year he is starting 2 weeks prior to his first preseason game, which is standard for many clubs.
Kosher Ham
The Bears have a game in about a week thats why the started so early. The Redskins have had a lot of practice over the past few months and have a scrimmage set up with the Ravens that will be even more practice. I think they will be just fine as far as work for most positions go. My biggest question mark and concern with the team right now, is have Ramsey and all of the younger and new receivers had enough time to gel. ATLANTASKINSFAN
The teams that start camp early have an early preseason game.

budski
Well since the media is predicting such a dismal season, why start the pain early.
Timberob
OKay makes sense just a bit curious.
RockyMountainHog
I think that a late start and intense practices lessons wear and tear and keeps players interested. JMHO
