Exp Draft - Don't be surprised to see..............

The Texans take DT Gary Walker ahead of Tony Boselli..............and with Willie Roaf sitting out there from the Saints don't be surprised to see Boselli not taken at all.

I don't reckon the Texans will take a QB - but if they do they won't take one that counts $6.0m+ against the 2002 cap. So that would leave Charlie Batch as the only candidate ($2.3m).

Just my gut.

First of all PC-G'DAY MATE (always wanted to say that)...I hope you are right about the Texans and the QB situation. I want us to pick up Jeff Blake so bad it hurts. I would love to see a Blake, Graham, Rosenfels trio at Fedex...ok, yapped enough, keep yer fingers crossed!

Hey PCinOZ... looks like our 'guts' are telling us the same thing

http://extremeskins.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic&f=1&t=006246&p=

Word of of New Orleans was that WR Joe Horn was having extramarital affairs with Willie Roaf's wife. In response, Roaf was questioning his commitment to the team and football in general. Hence he was threatening to retire. Horn has recently gone public vehementing denying the allegations.

Either way... you'd have the question the 'desire' of an athlete who threatens to retire.

Texan GM Charlie Casserley has mentioned he will be building with youth - selecting a few higher priced players in the expansion draft - and avoiding players who will only be around for another 2-3 years. Roaf fits that profile.

My gut is telling me the Texans will select Bryant McKinnie with their first selection

[ February 03, 2002, 08:27 AM: Message edited by: Die Hard ]

OK, this doesn't really go with the topic, but I felt like saying this anyway. When will Haslett get blamed for everything that's wrong with the (so called) Saints? First you have Albert Connell stealing money from Duce Mcallister, and then this comes after the Saints stink it up the whole season despite having a wealth of young talent. Then Joe Horn is banging Willie Roaf's wife?

I don't know if anybody else saw the article in SI about Haslett and how he enjoys drinking, partying, and breaking the law. He acts like I did when I was 16. It didn't come right out and say it, but the article had a certain subteltly that basically said, "It's Haslett's fault..." I was glad to see that from the media, because everybody is afraid of getting slammed for going against the coach of the year.

Speaking of his coach of the year award, that was totally undeserved. They won the NFC West in a down year for the confrence, but yet they were the darlings of the media. When the 'Skins win the division with a 10-6 record, it's because "everybody was down." And it was pretty obvious that most of his players were not as bad as they were made out to be.

I just think Jim Haslett is a complete moron and doesn't deserve to coach any team in the NFL. He needs to be in jail, with the rest of his players.

WTEM reported last week the DNA test showed that Roaf is the Baby Daddy but he has been talkig retirement and that would scare me off.

TEM is still saying that Boselli will still be the first pick and the Texans are trying to select the WR and OLB from the Ravens
