Jon Allen on the junkies today said “when we do get it turned around, keep that same energy” (referring to frustrated commanders fans)

now, I like the guy, but……huh? What does that even mean? That people that are frustrated (and rightfully so) shouldn’t be able to change into being happy if the team turns it around? The **** kinda logic is that??

I have heard that same stupid line for several years now. Quite sick of hearing it, frankly. When is this " being good and winning " stuff going to happen? So I can keep the same energy??? I wouldn't be surprised if multiple Washington players have used that worn out, unoriginal cliche for the last 30 years. I know I've heard it a bunch of times. Still waiting on the so called turnaround, that's supposedly supposed to happen.

He’s using the phrase differently than I’ve ever known it, which is why I think they asked for clarification.  Glad he cleared that up.

I have always heard it the same way you are referring to. That phrase has always had negative connotations to it. Like don't pretend to support me or be my fan when I'm actually good. Which will be never, apparently.

Restructuring Roullier probably means we’ll be bringing someone in soon.

I've always felt like Roullier was a pretty good center. Interestingly, I just saw where pro football focus rates him just the 29th best center out of 36 qualifying players. That's a very crappy rating. Apparently they think he sucks.

Still not sure why the nfl hasn't replaced the Sunday ticket with nfl plus. Offer season, weekly, n team specific packages. Seems like a no brainer. 🤷‍♂️

I don't know about others but I had a bad NFL plus experience. I ordered it just for the preseason games and I never did see any opening kickoffs. It kept acting like the games hadn't begun, when I knew that they had. I had to keep going out and coming back in and finally it would let me start the game but there would be like 13:25 left in the 1st qtr. Instead of starting from the very beginning. Also my phone kept freezing up. Frustrated the crap out of me. Watching games on my phone with mlbtv, amazon, nfl network, nbc sports, espn app, etc usually works great. So I canceled nfl plus shortly afterward.

Are they really?  That is unfortunate.  No reason for me to keep DirecTV then.

Yep but maybe hold onto dtv until things become more offiicial. It is looking highly likely though, at this point.

I'll be honest, since DirecTV hooked me up with Sunday Ticket Max for free this year, I spend most Sundays watching other more interesting games.  It's way more fun with gambling and fantasy.  I may have watched like 7 offensive Commanders snaps and a few defensive snaps today.  It was ugly as hell and I just said whatever goodbye.  It is liberating.

Cool. They've given it to me for free 3 straight years. It really is amazing. The Max is a $400 value too. Unfortunately they are losing Sunday Ticket to Amazon or somewhere next season 😢

I sense a pattern among the fan base lol…

    That we are all illiterate??

I don't know what to think of that double player movement release but I really hope Wes S does not need to go to IR.

The constant Oline shuffle is going to make a bad unit look even worse. Not to mention the need to add a new body at Oline

Unfortunately Schweitzer is indeed going to IR. The message was supposed to say that Wes Martin was elevated.

Sorry I don't do narratives. In one of the sack video you can see Terry wide open and Wentz goes to throw and then brings it back and then gets sacked. He should have just thrown to Terry. So some of the sacks were on Wentz. The QB still needs to throw quicker and not take 7 steps drops when he sees what their D is doing and the OL is not helping him. He needs to also help the OL as well.

Some people think Slay was baiting Wentz on that play. They think it would have been a pick if Wentz threw it. I'm not sure though.

  8. I sure hope Rivera, Turner, Matsko, and/or someone makes some changes to the oline and comes up with a good gameplan. Obviously you can't beat any team if your oline is putrid. Which it has been for most of the season so far. Can't run the ball, can't pass the ball.  Definitely can't score many points. I'm gonna pray for a miracle and say Washington beats Dallas 30 - 28.

Flowers was different in cost because he wouldn’t accept a pay cut. So he was either his fully salary or cut. They chose cut and paid Turner less, essentially.

Flowers is still available, isn't he? Sure would be nice if he'd come back and play left guard for us, on a reasonable deal. Do yall think we might play a couple different olineman this week? Like a Chris Paul maybe? Or Cornelius Lucas maybe? In hopes of improving? I know he plays tackle usually and Cosmi needs reps but he's hurting the team too, with his struggles. So maybe some new faces or is Ron too stubborn and wants to be proven right on his decision to bring those two former Panther hasbeens in?? I know that CLucas has always been pretty solid in my opinion. I've never seen him get obliterated for an entire half ( like the Detroit debacle ) or the entire game ( like the Philly debacle ) 🤔

I recall thinking, dump Scherff replace with Norwell, was an optimal move.

That’s because I had no idea the dude is completely done.  He’s been an abomination, as has Turner.

These were moves that didn’t even register on my concern radar.  I was concerned about line backers from the moment last season to present and pretty much expected what we’ve gotten this far.  The OL though, it’s shocking to me just how awful they’ve been.

I agree. The oline was the absolute least of my concerns, yet it's our number one problem.

Wondering if he is referring to Nick Martin. That guy is probably learning the playbook. Once he does, you could slot him in and move Schweitzer back to guard

I think we should give Martin a chance. Atleast he's a true center. Schweitzer obviously isn't. He played well at center last season for us, at times. However vs Phi, his snaps were located poorly and he got abused like the rest of the oline. I hope Matsko, Turner, and company figure out a good plan for Dallas. Not only is Micah Parsons a monster but DLaw woke up last Monday night and had 3 sacks vs nyg. We better have a plan to atleast slow those two dudes down some.

What happened to the lineman Rivera and Co signed? Why did none of them even see the field sunday after online play was pretty bad? (I know the answer to my question) Outside of Samuel has any free agent signings helped the team at all? We have tons of players starting for other teams and none to replace them. Anthony freaking Barr is playing linebacker for the cowboys and looked better than anything we had.

Are you referring to Norwell and Turner? They played. They got curbstomped. It's a small sample size and I'm hoping they turn it around. However, currently it looks like they were horrendous choices to replace Scherff and Flowers.

  13. Hey, Ty Nsekhe is available. He was once our best backup offensive lineman. Someone we thought could start on several teams. Basically what Cornelius Lucas is now. Maybe we should bring Ty in...speaking of Lucas, why isn't he getting playing time? I have way more confidence in him than Cosmi right now. Or any other lineman, the way they're playing currently. The Ravens are bringing Nsekhe in for a visit, by the way.  Maybe he can visit us next 🤷‍♂️

St-Juste played the best technical man coverage we have seen from a corner in years. Eyes to man, receiver goes for ball head comes around, his hand breaks receivers hands and play the ball.

    Legit picture perfect.

The fact people are honestly upset with almost perfect technical coverage is odd considering how bad our CBs have been getting beat so far this year.

I'm not upset at all. I said I was glad for that. I just added that he had int opportunities that he didn't take advantage of. I'm still happy he did a really good job in coverage.

Just fire Rivera then if these are the conditions. No reason Riverboat agrees to such malarkey. Ya basically just neutered the HC. Bingo caller 2.0 😑

Why is it malarkey? Ron appears to be worse at playing GM than Bill Belichick and that's saying something. Maybe just being head coach is exactly what Ron/the team needs.

I said in the Game day thread that we need to create some turnovers and once again we didn't. We now have gotten one turnover in three games and that came on an under thrown desperation heave. Up until yesterday, our opponents hadn't even put the ball on the ground. We had a chance yesterday at one when the Philly punt returner muffed the punt, but he picked it right back up before getting nailed. Unless you have a dominant D- which we obviously do not- you'd better get some turnovers to offset all you do bad on D.

As for Rivera, I never liked the hire from day one. I talked myself into positive vibes about him going into his first year hoping he would prove me wrong, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen. We have been out coached and outplayed in at least ten of the twelve quarters of football we've played so far this year. I'll give us the first quarter and maybe the fourth quarter of the Jacksonville game and that's it. I know we outscored Detroit in the second half last week, but as we crept back into the game, every time they needed a play offensively, defensively and on Special Teams, they made it to reject our comeback attempt.

We play with little to no fire and look unprepared to play. Philly has more talent than us, but we've been shoved around like chumps in the last two games and I think we have once again become the laughing stock of teams that know when they play us they're just going to do what they want to us with little resistance. This has gotten ugly already and another season that appeared to have some promise- at least to me- looks like it will be another disaster with 4 or 5 wins being the ceiling.

They aren't interested in turnovers, inexplicably. They settle for deflections. St Juste played well ( and I'm glad for that )  but he had 2 or 3 int opportunities if he simply turns his head around and/or makes an aggressive play on the ball. None of our players do that. No ambition for turnovers whatsoever.

  16. Another bad start to a season. The all too familiar 1 - 2 record. Despite the schedule makers seemingly doing us a favor. I'm losing faith in Ron Rivera. He ignored the linebacking issues. He ignored the cornerback issues. Someone like Wildgoose shouldn't have to come into a game just because we are down one measley cb. It's inexcusable. Spending 7th rounders on db's isn't working. Norwell and Turner are slow footed, old and haven't been good in recent years. They can't pull or get out on screens worth a crap. They appear to be hideous replacements for Scherff and Flowers. They're getting manhandled. Cosmi and Leno are struggling as well. I honestly have zero confidence in Ron fixing this. I was hoping we'd FINALLY be good and start off 3 - 0 or 4 - 1 or 5 - 2. It's not happening. It practically never, ever does with this team but hey we'll win 4 in a row in late October and the beginning of November. Then go on a slide again and miss the playoffs yet again. I've seen this movie before and I hate it.

They're tugging your strings man, and it's apparently working very well.

It's possible to be correct and have someone who is incorrect disagree with you.

The more often you realize this the more often you'll be able to avoid a lot of unnecessary stress.

I suppose you are right but this defense and it's ineptitudes really shouldn't be debatable. Stevie Wonder can see all of the issues. The ones I mentioned in my original post.

Now more thumbs down by people who know durn well I'm right and they even agree with my obvious critiques of the defense. Oh well, I have better things to do than this crap. I'm out.

Might be rotating some back of the roster guys on D. That D line will  be hurting bad if S-Willy can't go

Why is it, that seemingly almost every game for years and years, our injury report is much worse than the opposition's?? Seems like every week we're missing very important contributors and the other team is in pretty good shape. Very frustrating.

You care far too much about the opinion of others.

Now there are 4 thumbs down to my post, inexplicably. I care too much? It just doesn't make sense. I know football. Been die hard for 4 decades. I especially know Washington football like the back of my hand. Everything I said is indisputable. Thumbs down = what you said is wrong and ludicrous. However that's not true. What I said is factual. Now a bunch of other people have hit thumbs down too. Either I'm the only one here that understands the problems with this defense or a bunch of childish, immature children are thumbs downing it for no reason 🤷‍♂️
