This defense is so frustrating. We never seem to fly to the ball. Never seem to gang tackle anyone. Never seem to get batted balls from the dline, by simply raising their arms when they can't get to the qb. We never seem to rip at the ball, as the ball carrier falls to the ground ( after the tackle is all but guaranteed ) Our secondary seems to go for pass deflections when an int is possible. I just can't stand the complacency. Even if our D is below average with talent, speed, etc, so be it. Too late to change that during the season. However if you go all out to force turnovers, it would help our defense and offense. It would massively increase our odds of winning ballgames.

Umm how did this get a thumbs down? LOL. Unbelievable. I dare anyone to tell me what I said that was even REMOTELY false...

We need a 0 turnover game and win the turnover battle at least +2. Gotta steal possessions. And it'd be nice if we could get a decent return or two on kickoffs/punts.

We know that at best, we are an average defense. That's a stretch but we'll go with it. However, if we focused more on attitude and ballhawk stuff, it would help immensely. Why does it seem like our players are always satisfied with making a tackle? I watch other defenses, going all out every play. Doing the lawnmower pulling move or whatever you want to call it. Where they violently rip at the ball. We friggin never do that kind of stuff. We also don't seem to get our hands up on the dline. This simple maneuver leads to tipped balls. Tipped balls lead to easy interceptions. Forcing turnovers would be huge for a defense that is otherwise underwhelming.

As another poster said, we have less than 3 million in cap space and other injuries will happen.   Unless we extend somebody in a way that lowers their cap hit for this year, we don't have the money available to go after the bigger names like JPP.

Yea, what else is new? Every year, it seems that we lack cap money. Just another frustrating aspect to being a Washington fan.

    Same here, bro.

My ex wife asked me repeatedly why did I torture myself to watch the entire game.

Said I should change teams since I suffered so much.

No more. 30 years is enough.

I hate when people say " you should change teams. " That's not how this thing works. We're die hard fans. We will bleed burgundy and gold til the day we die. No matter how many tears or nutkicks we have to endure. We don't even have a choice. It is what it is.

  6. I hope the turnovers slow down considerably. Four in two games is too many. However, I'm pretty happy with Wentz thus far. I know the first half at Detroit was awful but he had like 1.5 seconds or less to find someone and get rid of it. I hope the pressure/drama of the Philly game doesn't get to him mentally. He and our great wr's are practically our only chance. I hope John Matsko can get the oline ready and do a much better job than they did last Sunday. Missing Schweizer hurt but that's no excuse for the 6th ranked oline ( according to pff ) to get absolutely obliterated. I still can't believe the magnitude of the ineptitude that I witnessed in that game. Never thought it could be quite as atrocious as that first half was.

  7. Most think we'll lose to Philly for sure. They're probably right. However I think the Dallas game is more pivotal. We will most likely need that game in order to be 2 - 2.  Which is not great but it's not bad either. I think Jerry Jones is full of crap again. I don't think there is any chance Dak plays that week. However whether it's a brought back too soon Dak or Cooper Rush, we really need a victory. Starting 1 - 3 ( assuming a PHI loss ) would be terrible and the same frustrating garbage that we always deal with. I'd love to shock the Eagles but realistically we need to beat Dallas in week 4.

  8. Jahan did that same beautiful move and cut inside, twice in the first two games. Surely the Eagles see it on tape. I think this Sunday, he should do the exact same move but this time, cut outside instead of inside. The db ( remembering film ) would immediately bite and take an inside step. At that point, he'd be cooked already. A decent pass and Jahan catches it for another touchdown! Woohoo! Yeehaw!

Just picked up wentz for my fantasy team.

    Hopefully I don't jinx him.

He's currently my starter because I benched Joe Burrow, due to his struggles. Carson had around 27 - 28 points each of the first two games. Mainly due to touchdown passes and passing yards. I hope he keeps it up. Would be nice for the D show up,  and we start racking up wins.

Looking at that first St. Brown 50 yard gain where he's wide open in the middle.     It was clearly man coverage.   What is William Jackson doing?

He's been so awful. It's downright stunning to me, how a top 5 shutdown cb ( his ranking by many outlets while in Cincy )  can come here and look like absolute trash. This type of thing has happened here for 30 years. Are we just cursed or what?  😢

Man…..what was hopefully going to be two good MNF games, turned into complete duds. Sad.

    oh joy….cowboys giants next Monday….gross.

Yes, I despise when this happens. Four teams that I don't really care about. The least that I ask for is an intriguing, competitive game from atleast one of the games but nope, two curbstompings 😡😡

Cousins must think he is back in the NFC East the way he is throwing the ball to the Eagles right now.   This is why you don't pay that guy that kind of money, all of it guaranteed.  The Vikings are for sure getting their "guarantees" from him.

I still remember the Vikes getting to the NFC Championship Game with Case Keenum. Then they lose and go sign Cousins to 84 million guaranteed. I was flabbergasted. They already had a team good enough to almost get to a SB and they actually think that KIRK " not clutch AT ALL "COUSINS can put them over the top? Egregious decision.

The problem is no one is around him at all. Is that scheme? Maybe. Could be play call. Or it could be someone didn't do their job.

That's true. The other problem was the hideous attempts at tackling him, after he got back up.

Yeah this was trash. That’s inexcusable tbh

I think this is getting overblown. He went down but somehow he was back up in like 0.3 seconds. So it's not like Haynesworth's belly flop while Vick was running around. I'm just saying, is it really that much of an advantage for a defense if the player goes to the ground, if they're literally back on their feet in a blink of an eye?
