  1. I’m probably going to watch on ESPN in the event we take Maye and Kiper has a stroke. But if we pick Daniels, I’ll probably throw my bourbon glass through the TV and that will be all she wrote for me…
  2. Dude, watch his game against Georgia from this season. He can sling it! I think he is a very natural thrower of the ball. Kind of reminds me of the slower, slightly weaker armed version of Caleb.
  3. My final rankings 1. Caleb 2. Maye 3. JJ 4. Penix 5. Rattler 6. Nix 7. Daniels I want Maye. But honestly give me anyone but Daniels and I’ll be happy.
  4. Watching Jayden’s all passes/runs from 2023 for like the 5th time because I’m genuinely trying to find something to be happy about in the event he is our pick Thursday night. But the 3 things that are jumping out to me now are: 1. He has so many perfect pockets and all day to throw on most downs. 2. When he does get pressured or the pocket breaks down, he is not good at navigating the pocket hence the high pressure to sack ratio. 3. For a “running” qb, he is really bad at throwing on the run. It’s like he is too stiff and can’t open his hips to make a good throw. And he doesn’t have the arm strength to throw off platform.
  5. He literally said the same thing about Daniels when he was going over the QBs with Colt! There is very little anticipation throws with Daniels.
  6. Honestly at this point I hope they just draft Daniels so I can stop torturing myself rooting for this team every week.
  7. I’m in the same boat. I just don’t see it with Jayden from an arm talent perspective. It boggles my mind how there are so many former coaches/players that I respect, have him as their #2 qb. Yes, he is an electric runner, but I’m just not impressed with the throws that he completes. It’s just so many hitches and fades with hardly any tight window throws. And yes, I have watched every pass of his from last year multiple times! I just watched all of McCarthy’s passes and runs from last year and I have to admit, I’m kind of warming up to him. Definitely prefer him now compared to Jayden. Dude is really accurate and mechanically sound. I know he didn’t throw a ton last year, but he completed so many NFL caliber throws in tight windows! My only concern with him is that it seems like he only has 1 speed for his passes; so many laser beams! If he can incorporate some touch passes, he pretty much has everything you would want in a starting qb. I think my final qb rankings will be: 1. Caleb 2a. Drake 2b. McCarthy 4. Jayden 5. Penix 6. Nix
  8. I don’t see that at all from Jayden! I think Caleb is more of a taller Kyer with better arm talent. Both of Caleb and Kyler extend plays scrambling east and west looking to throw down field. Jayden is more of a 1-2 read and then hit seam in the pocket and run straight up like road runner. I think the skinny Trey Lance comp makes a lot of sense, because when you look at Treys tape from his final year at ND state, it was beautiful slot fade after beautiful slot fade to superior wr talent with a lot of comeback routes thrown in as well. If that wasn’t there it was take off and run. Similar to what JD did this year, but Trey would just bulldoze anyone who tried to tackle him.
  9. Granted, I am very much pro Maye, but I watched both pro days in their entirety and for the life of me I could not understand why most media personalities were gushing over Daniels workout and critical of Maye’s. Maye did have those 2 misses early, but after that he was a dang machine! The level of difficulty of his throws and the zip on his throws far exceeded what Daniels displayed. Everything about Daniels’ pro day was kind of boring and lazy and he also had his fair share of misses.
  10. He has been right on some things in the past. I remember he was the first to know just how bad Alex Smith’s leg was before stuff started leaking to the national media. But I am still taking this new info with a grain of salt. The source was some guy his son knows who texted him and told him to share with his dad. 🤷🏼‍♂️
  11. For those that aren’t local, EB from the Junkies mentioned an interesting rumor he heard over the weekend. The just of it was that Jayden doesn’t like Adam Peters. Supposedly Aiyuk put Jayden in touch with Peters last year to gauge whether or not he should enter the draft and Peters told him that he wouldn’t draft him before the 5th round and that his skills would have a hard time translating to the NFL. Not sure how reliable his source was, but he prefaced it with saying he doesn’t have a reason to lie about it. I don’t take much from it other than the point about JD hating AP. But I think a late round grade is what most evaluators had on him after the 2022 season.
  12. I would be amazed if he makes it past the top 20. Those numbers are insane. The on field production wasn’t there, but every so often you would see that athleticism flash…
  13. After those 2 years he would be the same age as Jayden is now, so yeah. I’d be cool with it. Honestly it’s probably best for all rookie QBs to sit for at least the beginning of the season. Unfortunately it’s just hard to keep these race horses in the stables when you know the type of talent they have. I’m honestly getting burned out with all of these analyst’s takes. I like Orlovsky, but I feel like last week Orlovsky was on ESPN saying Maye was definitely in play for the Bears at 1.
  14. Seems spot on to me. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/10108009-2024-nfl-draft-big-board-br-nfl-scouting-depts-post-senior-bowl-rankings.amp.html 1.
