Congrats to Bailey Zappe, I think he’s in a great fit with the Mac Jones’ type of passing game.

I watched that Kurt Warner youtube breakdown of Carson… My biggest takeaway was that Kurt Warner is a freaking genius. Not only does he have a high football IQ, but he’s able to explain it in a very teachable way. Very good news to hear that Carson is working with Warner. -
Heinicke Hive: The LEGEND of Taylor Heinicke Thread

I just want to highlight this post. -
He looked good, all his throws had accuracy and velocity. He got sacked a few times, it didn't bother him. I would guess he's going to be the top quarterback taken in this year's draft? edit: who knows, I keep flip-flopping, we'll see how the bowls go.

Excited to watch Eastern Washington’s QB Eric Barriere for the first time tonight. edit: first impressions- similar, but he’s not built as thick as Malik Willis.

I see a lot similarities between Matt Corral and Tua Tagovailoa. They're both quick-read guys with quick, compact releases. They both throw the ball like darts, snapping it off at the shoulder. The downside is that without much wind-up, it makes it hard to arc and drive the ball down the field (like a Russell Wilson). However, that's not necessarily a bad thing, just a different style (more West Coast, timing routes, pre-snap reads). I'm going to pay close attention to Tua, because if he can be successful with his style in Miami, then Corral can definitely be successful, too.

We have a great offensive line, just wish we had a more threatening RB and QB. -
The difference for me is the lower half. Pickett and Corral have a lower base that seems to anchor them, when times get tough. Howell's lower half is strong, but skiddish. There's a fine line between quick feet and happy feet. Unfortunately, right now, Howell has some skiddish feet, behind a bad offensive line. He'll need some re-programming. The safer bet is Pickett and Corral. Edit: After re-watching more of Howell, he does have the potential for a strong base, he just needs to settle down.

The sleeper QB's I like are Jake Haener and Bailey Zappe. Haener is on now.

I think Trey Lance is my favorite QB out of last year's draft class (maybe Zach Wilson). I just feel like he has more rhythm and physical tools than the other guys. Mac Jones has the rhythm, but not quite the arm talent of Trey Lance. Trey is a project, but as long as he's not dirt dumb, he'll be a quality starter some day. Edit: Actually, I still like Zach Wilson a lot. When his mechanics are right, he throws from a strong base.

I believe the QB prospects in this year's draft are better than Daniel Jones and Duane Haskins, but not as good as Herbert or Joe Burrow. In that case, I think this is a good year to draft a QB because it won't require a top 5 pick. We can just sit back and relax, and draft whoever falls to us. Best case scenario may be taking BPA with our first pick, and then then trading up to get a QB with our second pick.
