You can scheme to protect the quarterback as well. Quick passes, screens, good run game, max protection. Joe Gibbs did this a lot when Mark Brunell was not playing quarterback. I still think Peters will be looking for a trade or maybe a post draft cut. We still have assets that we do not know if the coaching staff likes. Dotson, Forbes, Davis could all be traded.

Welcome to the Commanders Jer'Zhan Newton DT Illinois

1000%. Last year Super Bowl had 11 All Pro players. We’ve had only Trent Williams in the past 10 years. We need 5 All Pro players to become legitimate contenders. -

100%. I say he’s a better prospect than Daron Payne was years ago. Daron ran a good 40 but his other numbers were pretty Meh. Also Daron had basically 1 year of production. I see them using 3 man line with Luvu, Davis, Armstrong playing edge on some downs. -
Let’s be honest Ron and company had no idea about offensive line. They put Nick Gates back in the game last year after repeatedly showing he doesn’t have the play strength for NFL. We will see what Daniels, Stromberg and co can do with new regime.

I think we got very lucky he couldn’t run at combine. His speed and quickness jumps off the film. I would assume high 4.7’s-low 4.9’s. May be an adjustment period for him but I love the pick. -
Welcome to the Commanders Ben Sinnott TE Kansas State
OtisDriftwood25 replied to PCS's topic in The Stadium
I 100% think he will be involved game one. He will be in 2 TE sets and FB. Ravens run a lot of that crack back on back side DE or slip to the flats with extra tight end. I expect that to be his role early on. -
Welcome to the Commanders Ben Sinnott TE Kansas State

Not saying he’s going to be Sam Laporta but his Ras scores, along with height, weight are very similar. -
Welcome to the Commanders Luke McCaffrey WR ~ RICE
OtisDriftwood25 replied to zCommander's topic in The Stadium
I don’t think it can be understated how good of people the McCaffrey family are. I had a friend who worked in the panthers organization that would rave over CMC as a person. He would take time for everyone including interns. Same person that mentioned the toxicity in our organization before it came out. -
Welcome to the Commanders Mike Sainristil CB Michigan

I prefer Sainristil and Sinnott. Dejean may have been more value but Sinnott was such a big need. Some of these big boards are people repeating information they heard. For example the Texas tight end was supposed to be second best tight end and he went 5th round. Some people had Johnny Wilson 80th overall and he doubled that. All the respected draft followers here had Sinnott in the 50-60 range. You add in that it was our second biggest need behind LT then it’s definitely not a reach. -
Welcome to the Commanders Brandon Coleman OT ~ TCU

Was more about his shoulders always staying square to the rusher. After watching his Senior Bowl 1-1, I see more of a tackle than a guard. He seems to struggle a bit with 315 lb power rush. -
As I posted before Dejean dropping had nothing to do with the player he is. A fractured Fibula is one of the worst injuries to suffer as a movement athlete. Peters probably loved Dejean before the injury. The eagles medical staff was comfortable with taking him and maybe Washingtons was not. Look at Tony Pollard last year as an example.

We can only hope the 2 biggest problems to are line are gone. EB and Nick Gates. I do not think Leno had much left last year. LT still concerns me but will wait and see. Teams drafted about 20 starters in this draft so there may be some cap casualties. The Texans went from worst O-line with 2 things. A good play caller and a good quarterback.

Welcome to the Commanders Dominique Hampton SAF Washington
OtisDriftwood25 replied to PCS's topic in The Stadium
I think Hampton first focus will to fill the Cam Chancellor type role in Dan Quinn defense. I also believe he will practice as off ball LB some on third down. Dallas played 220 lb safety at linebacker most the season. -
He reminds me of Yiadom who we lost last minute to 49ers. I am expecting he was probably our first call saying to give us last decision. We have Joe Whit Jr who is known for developing corners. We have roster spot to fit him as well.
