Hoping it we’ll be some kind of shake up and teams surprise with the picks they make this year. If we are picking top 3 and a QB is sitting in our laps you take him . We have too many holes to not invest in one and put all our chips on the table with Matt Howell.

The first round bust rate for QBs is 50 percent. No one even talked about Daniels until one month ago. That scares me. Williams will go #1 and I see no upgrade with Maye.

I'm giving "Matt" the season before I make a decision. He has at least shown he can play in the league over a complete roll of the dice.

Bears just won and we move up a notch since the Bears beat us . We may be getting the number 1 pick or the number 2 pick. You take a QB drafting that high and let the competition between Howell and the first rounder compete.

like the great Joe Gibbs said. If a Qb can’t compete for the starting QB job then you done have a franchise QB.

I get bad vibes with that.  The second the rookie plays bad the Howellers (probably myself included if I'm being honest) will scream for Howell.  I don't want a young QB in that situation.

I haven't seen Jayden Daniels play a single snap but I just read his stats: 3900 passing yards, 40 TD's, 4 interceptions, 1000 yards rushing and 10 TD's plus he broke Joe Burrow's passing efficiency records? How do we pass on this guy? I could see him going #1 overall come April but if he falls to us we are gonna get offers for sure. Am I off base here?

Dwyane Haskins had unbelievable college stats. Something crazy like 5000 yards and 50 touchdowns his last season. But there were plenty of warnings about inflated stats due to wide open receivers with zero pass rush. College stats are overrated.

Personally, I like Daniels much better as a prospect than Haskins. I still prefer Howell over Daniels (subject to change). It's going to be long 4 months until we know the answer.

Yeah I don't think any of the Ts are lockdown slam dunk franchise stud LT types. But there are some real good prospects that would absolutely help this football team. I just don't know if any of them are anywhere close to a Trent Williams or even Chris Samuels caliber.

I think Latham is a sure thing all pro. Unfortunately the analytics don't match taking RT in the top 10.  Latham is an absolute monster.

So if we end up at 4 what would we have to give up to move to 1  or 2? Would it cost us another first or would our 2nd this year be enough?

Definitely not. One important thing people are forgetting, is that there are plenty of teams behind us that may be a QB away who might trade 3 firsts to move up if Chicago or Arizona doesn't take a QB. Teams like Atlanta, Minnesota, Seattle. It will definitely cost multiple firsts to move up regardless of where we are at.

  6. One thing I know for sure, this will be a long debate all off-season. Howell or Daniels. I think it's a lock that Williams and Maye will be gone by 4-6 pick.

I'm a huge Howell fan, but unfortunately I don't see him playing any better this season.  The oline and tight ends are getting worse by the week.  Daniels is on the skinny side, I honestly don't think he can take the hits Howell does behind this atrocious oline.

I'm on the tackle in the first round side.  But I can't argue if people feel Daniels is a better prospect.  Tough, tough decision.

The Portland Trail Blazers once drafted Sam Bowie over Michael Jordan because they needed a center. Point is, if we're picking at 4 and there's a generational player there you take him regardless of position, including if it's an offensive lineman. Our new GM is gonna have all kinds of directions he can go in with our pick(s).....Free agency will be huge for us.

I agree in theory, but the oline is so bad we really don't have a choice. If we draft a "generational" QB and he struggles, I'm going to lose it if the fans blame the oline. Franchise tackles don't come in free agency.  At some point, you just have to bite the bullet and draft a top tackle. It's not a glamorous pick, it doesn't sell jerseys. But this is the year.

He can’t design and call the offense.  Like I said, the few plays that do get made, are via Sam and outside of the offense that EB is dialing up.  I wish this weren’t the case.  I wish guys were running open and it was obvious that he’s not the guy.  It makes everything easier that way, but I’m just not convinced there is any opportunity to succeed in EB’s offense.

I wish Sam had easy throws like Tua did, and of course time in the pocket. Poor Sam is in a terrible place. He's a fifth round pick, the media isn't high on him, and the new regime will probably want "their" guy. The season isn't going to get better for him. The oline and tight ends are getting worse. Most of the team knows they will be gone next year. Sam is the only one who seems to give a ****. I feel bad for him.

That graphic is beyond stupid. If you have an elite WR he's gonna get open so quick and so often that the QB will get rid of the ball and won't get hit anyway.

Our WRs don't get open, particularly against man coverage, and it has been a big time problem for our offense.

Respectfully, I feel that we have tried this route before. We had Garcon, Jackson, Reed, Crowder and still was not elite. Two years ago we drafted Dotson to pair with Terry and Samuel and we still are not elite.  We also tried the "generational" QB route with RG3 and Haskins, still didn't work. Let's build the **** line like Dallas and Philly. This is the year to take the franchise tackle.

However here is my greater concern.  Since he left and through today, the Panthers are 18 and 43.  That is evidence that he left the cupboard pretty bear there from a talent standpoint and a player development standpoint.  Should we fear that same kind of hangover here after he is gone?  Think about it.  OL is a mess, tight ends are not good, defensive backs not good, linebackers are a train wreck and quarterback while showing promise remains unsettled.

You are correct. This team has too many holes to fill in the off-season. But if we hire a smart GM who can draft and if Howell works out (I think he will), we could be competitive in 2025. Teams with good QBs can rebound quick.

Here’s a list of the players I care about having on this team moving forward.

    Sam Howell

    Brian Robinson

    Terry Mclaurin

    Jonathan Allen

    Kam Curl

    Jeremy Reaves

    Tress Way

Why Curl and Reaves? I know they are fan favorites, but Curl has been horrible lately.

I agree with the rest. I would also like to pick up Davis' option year. I think he could excell in a new system.

EB is just as bad as Del Rio, just got bailed out by some impressive Howell plays.

Entire roster needs overhauled. Im not sure any of our starters would start for Dallas except maybe Payne and Allen.

You are absolutely right. Terry might be WR#3. We should not be resigning anyone. A lot of fans talk about Curl, but was terrible today. Ron built a backup caliber football team by reaching in the drafts for undersized players.  It shouldn't be a surprise that our best players are Gruden's guys.
