Btw, the one arrest was a woman of color for wearing a mask in public.

    What are the chances?!?

Yeah, I didn't catch all of the details of her arrest. But, I thought I heard news channel saying she was wearing a bandana to cover her face. Which, if true, was no worse than the "hunting masks" or whatever those stupid cammo masks people wore to cover the lower half of their face. Others had similar 'skeleton' masks on as well.  I think they cops didn't want to make too much of it & cause problems. Hindsight: If I was the Governor I would have banned hats, gloves & scarves within the city limits from sunup to sundown.

One last thing - I only saw video on local news of 1 person - white dude, mid/early 40s - walking with a handheld sign that was anti-gun.

So the narrative is that there was no violence at the gun rally, or so it seems.

Yeah, that "Antifa are posing as NRA peeps and then going to start trouble to put the blame on the NRA" conspiracy theory my wife's dumb ass 75yo Aunt was emailing all of her other Fox news addicts never materialized. Go figure...

  3. As a longtime RVA resident (DC born & raised) I'm not looking forward to this.

If you've never been to downtown RVA, it's really not built for large numbers of people (especially around the capital building). Which probably means people spread out all over downtown. It will also cause police to be spread out all over, too. I haven't seen a map of where the various groups plan to go (if there's even some kind of a plan).

If people stray into the wrong areas, it could get very, very ugly. There are some rough areas around there where outsiders could find a very unpleasant welcome.

Yeah, I need to mark my calendar for NYY & LAD vs HOU. Should be quite entertaining.

Still waiting on the MLB report on BOS.

Currently Ubering from Newark to LaGuardia due to 3+ hour delays on my flight causing missed connection. AMA.

LOL...You'd be better off renting a car and driving home. Although the construction at LGA has made Uber in & out much easier, traffic around there still sucks.

I've made that drive from PHL & EWR on numerous occasions during snow delays/cancellations - ugh.

Someone on the radio said that mild cheating in baseball is ok. However, bringing technology into it is what makes it against the rule. Any truth to that?

Stealing signs has been done forever. It is part of the game. I loved trying to figure out opposing signs when I played in high school. If I was on 2nd you're damn right I'm staring down their bench & catcher so I can signal the batter. But u introduce technology and you're done. Should be a lifetime ban & heavier hit to the franchise.

Edit...I should add binoculars & any other device to see the signs would apply

Just had to change flights for this evening because of rampant airport delays in Charlottesville. Same damn thing happened a month ago and I ended up canceling travel altogether after sitting around an airport for 4+ hours and having the flight get moved to the next morning (it was slightly foggy). I have no idea what the issue today is. It's kind of cloudy? I've flown out of this airport dozens of times and it's usually pretty decent. Never had an issue until last month. I left myself a little wiggle room in the event the late flight tonight is delayed too... I can just drive to my connection in Dulles if the delay hits early enough.

You'll need to re-book to get on at Dulles. You can't jump on a flight at the connecting airport anymore.

  8. ^^Yeah, I hung up my road warrior bag 2 years ago (will be in 6 days) partly due to the ****tiness of air travel. I don't miss it at all. Still have plenty of miles & points with Marriott to keep me flying 1st class for a while & free hotel nights. But I don't miss that weekly travel drudgery. People suck & travel brings out the worst in them.

They are both terrorist organizations, and they both have the ability to cause pain... like one is a mosquito and one is a bee but they are both bugs.

I'm confused. I've seen this term tossed around a lot lately by multiple outlets. ISIS, I understand. What exactly does this mean for a country (Iran)? Because if it means what you wrote, there's a ****-ton of our adversaries that fall under that description. Are they also 'terrorist organizations'?

Agreed.  Like I said, the #2 most powerful guy in a country getting assassinated usually leaves the #1 guy and the former#3 pretty happy --- leadership is either in on the plot, or green-lighted the move through a mutual benefactor (i.e. Vladmir).

The whole ordeal has a pre-determined, staged feel to it.  Just look how quickly and eager Iran was to declare their satisfaction with the "revenge" missile strikes that were very obviously for show only.  And how quickly Trump was to accept and agree that Iran had "stood down".  Seriously I dont think the fires had even beet put out yet, but somehow everyone has agreed that this the end of things for now.  Its not even been a full week, and the whole situation wont even be front page news by tomorrow.   Step back and think about that for a second  --and think if you would have thought that this was possible one week, when people were freaking out like WWIII had just started.

Yeah, this is looking more & more like it was staged. Iran talked with Putin & told him to get his boy in DC to take him out. Tell him it will help his re-election bid & distract from his impeachment. White House Occupant willingly obliged. Iran is happy & Putin continues to laugh at the control he has.

White House Occupant now tells us to trust the US intel community. Then he's stupid enough to ask NATO to help out in the Mideast after berating them for the past 4 years. ****ing idiot.

He was clearly breathing through his mouth and was out of breath. His nose is probably jacked up from snorting adderall. He seems to be falling apart even more rapidly lately due to impeachment stress and all the other things he is scared of coming out in the future.  He is not a well or good person. I feel like we are in the home stretch since this is the beginning of year four but I think this year is going to feel like a dog year compared to the last three.  Buckle up it's going to get uglier.

Yep....Here's hoping the impeachment story keeps getting hotter & hotter for him up to the SOTU so the public can witness his complete breakdown live & in color.

What keeps going through my head is Iran must be really pissed at Russia right now. They've been longstanding allies who've worked around sanctions and made deal after deal. How Putin allowed his puppet to get away with this must be driving Iran crazy even if they understand that ultimately Russia's schemes are designed to benefit Russia and attacking the U.S. Iran/getting into a war of convenience with Iran is an incredible Christmas gift to Moscow especially if it's done in a way where somehow the US is understood to be the bad guy.

Maybe to fix things with Iran, Putin will pass along a certain video of the White House Resident in a hotel room in Russia...

Is Thames an upgrade over Matt Adams? Their numbers look real similar.  And Big City seemed very well liked in the dugout.  He's also two years younger than Thames, not that it matters so much when these guys are year-to-year.

Was Adams asking too much?  He's still unsigned.

It was pretty clear (after the parade) that Adams wasn't coming back. I can't remember exactly what it was (tweet/article/tv) but the Nats weren't gonna bring him back.

This right here is the problem.  We will no doubt win the war, but what about casualty?  How long will it go?

The United States is struggling in Iraq and Afghanistan.  What will it mean if another country is added to the mix?

Furthermore, what will the cost be?  The deficit is high as it is due to Trump's tax cuts. The economy may be affected.

I saw the Selective Service government website crashed yesterday. I'm guessing young men turning 20-25 years old this year are starting to look at the draft rules & their own options.

If I'm the media, I'm asking Republican congress-peeps when the US needs to start adding bodies to the military to support all of these battles. **** will get real when the gen pop realizes little Joey is going to war for the White House Inhabitant.
