  1. Redskins receiving corp is beginning to shape up

This is honestly the worst , Not worst, that was a poor choice of words , let me try again

This is honestly the LEAST IMPRESSIVE lineup of wide receivers i have ever seen entering the season in all the years i have loved this team. With that said I think our Tight ends are excellent. If Reeds healthy, along with Davis and Sprinkle we have one of the best Tight End trio's in the league.

Seriously concerned about Paul Richardson's productivity this year, after hearing he puts ketchup on tacos

Maybe if we can get him to stuff ketchup packets in his socks he will run fast, catch the ball and have a hall of fame career ?

That spike is about as impressive as his career has been

Honestly If they cut him tomorrow i would not be upset

No one has really stepped up at WR so far, its kind of scary. When Robert Davis has out shined your entire squad thats a very bad thing. Has any team ever gone to a 3 tighend spread on passing downs because honestly , Reed , Davis & Sprinkle are the best hands on the field.

At what point can we also say Paul Richardson was reach to be our #1 or even #2 receiver ? What are we paying him ?

I mean he practiced all week I think, dunno. If him and guice don't play in the dress rehearsal next week then I guess we can worry

Was he dressed, this guy is a ghost. I don't get the Redskins, If he is still injured then say it otherwise he is a rookie WR for christ sake, why is he not playing ?!

According to Casserly, Terry came in for one play, and tweaked something.  That’s why he came out of the game.  I hope he can go against Cincy.  Both Casserly and Moss, said he should get a ton of targets.

You have to be ****ing kidding me.

Does it ever end with our rookies and injury's season after season after season. ****!!!!!!!!

Friday morning, before you get up. I think around 4:00 AM. I have my TiVo set to record it.
I will listen to the Sirius radio broadcast on Thursday though. Miss you, Sonny!

Wait, Sirius has a Redskins radio broadcast , on weekdays and whatnot ?!  tell me more please. I know there is a NFL channel but i thought that just went live for gameday

I may owe my nephew an apology. When we left camp yesterday, he randomly said that McLaurin will have a 1K season. We laughed him out... I explained to him that Reed (who killed both times I went to Richmond btw), CT, Quinn, Richardson, and possibly Davis and Doctson will have more targets than him. He reluctantly disagreed.

But shoot, if Hoffman is saying he's balling out like that, I may have to eat some crow in January. Smh...

I agree with your nephew,  Although i think its more a case of our other receivers being subpar or injured then McLaurin being a superstar.

I once took a boombox into my back yard on Long Island, to pick up an AM broadcast of a Redskins v. Bears game off the clouds from Chicago. This was in the 80s when both teams were good.

Its funny back then AM radio use to pick up some long range stations from where you lived. It was very positional based though. Maybe it still does that i dunno

Its weird remembering a time before the internet.

  9. True story

As a kid i lived just outside the viewing area.... But if i took the radio into the attic and held it in a certain position i could pick up a VA/DC local station & listen to a fuzzy radio call of the game

    Touchdown ...... . .. Washington Redskins !.......

Not sure why I'm sharing this

  10. Here is a lovely hard hitting piece from deadspin thats so mean & unfiltered  you can't help but....cry ?

    https://deadspin.com/why-your-team-sucks-2019-washington-redskins-1837065916

Here's a preview if you are feeling brave

Your quarterback: In between doing ice luge shots, Team President and guy who looks like a defrocked priest Bruce Allen traded for Case Keenum, who genuinely deserves better. The Skins also got lucky and watched Ohio State’s Dwayne Haskins fall to them in the draft at No. 15.

But before you get excited about that, please note that the Skins have a noted history of lucking into players who slid in the draft, only to end up crippling them with the kind of injuries you usually only see in a World War I documentary. Also, Dan Snyder was ECSTATIC when Dwayne Haskins fell into his lap, not because Haskins has a bazooka of an arm, nor because of his unflappable demeanor, nor because of his controlled elusiveness in the pocket. It’s because Haskins went to the same dip**** private lax bro academy in Potomac that his kid went to.

In fact, Snyder was so obsessed with Haskins that he made a point of personally meeting with him prior to the draft. GREAT GREEN TURDS. Whenever Dan Snyder gets cozy with a player, he may as well carve a pentagram into their flesh. My man has already thrown a pick-six and got stiff-armed during it for good measure. Haskins gets to wear Joe Theismann’sold number, maybe even try on his hairpiece for a bit. But it’s all over for poor Dwayne. He’ll get to hop onto the same post-career gravy train where all Snyder favorites reside, but not before ending up in traction after having his pelvis removed from his body by an oncoming defender.

Fortunately it is really that simple if Reed is indeed healthy.

Offense operates around high percentage throws to Jordan Reed combined with short runs to move the chains.

Once Reed begins to get focused by the opposing defense, the passing game opens up elsewhere making for higher % plays to our wide receivers.

Sprinkle in some creative use of Chris Thompson and it can be effective as it has been in the past.

Now, it's only a matter of time before the aforementioned two get hurt which will necessitate a change of offensive gameplan..hope that guice and that the receiving groups have blossomed by then because they will have to dictate the defensive focus or our offense will become putrid and our defense will suffer the consequences.

Sharp special teams and a potentially dominant defense is how we win games this year. If we can maintain an effective offensive identity this year we will win the division.

Yeah i agree, It is our best shot of winning football games this year. The strength of this offense is the running-backs & Tight ends, also if anyone thinks Trent Williams  won't be missed in the passing game they are sadly mistaken. Teams are going to blow up  our line on passing downs. I see quick screens to HB's and our tightends being the focus this season on offense.

  12. I'll tell you guys one thing, as bad as season 8 has been i can't wait for Sunday Night. It's like a band aid at this point, I just want to rip it off and be done with it.

And this is how fan theories start.

But seriously. He's 3rd in line and has Baratheon and Targaryen blood and wants to marry the most badass of the Starks.

If we had 3 episodes left I'd say it was a likely conclusion.

Don't think it could get wrapped up like that in one episode where Dany needs to be eliminated and Jon needs to properly abdicate before it could happen.

This is true my friend but lets remember George RR martin is no longer writing the script..... D.B Weiss and David Benoiff could rap this series up in 12 minutes ....which they probably will.

While I literally asked the same question in print on a GoT prediction contest my family has going, I must admit I'll be angry if HBO hands the Iron Throne to Gendry. He's been kept alive and involved, but BARELY. It would be a huge copout IMHO to end this show with such a non-factor ruling the 7 kingdoms.

I agree that your theory makes it possible but will be utterly crestfallen if this is how it all ends. If that's how they do this then they should have made him much more participatory throughout the entire plot.

They couldn't because they wanted it to be a surprise and shock. But being the genius I am as evident by my predictions and prophecy's in the stadium part of E.S. I have uncovered the true ending of G.O.T.

That would be quite the twist, with him taking Arya Stark as his Queen. Which would be hilarious, if Arya ends up as the Lady of the 7 Kingdoms after how the story started with her as a Tomboy and Sansa being all doe-eyed for Joffrey in Season 1. Arya as the Lady of the 7 Kingdoms and Sansa as the Lady of the North would be a funny and ironic ending.

I still think Jon abdicates for some form of council rule, or democracy or representative democracy from the 7 kingdoms.

Now I'm kind of rooting for a Gendry + Arya rule but I know we won't get it.

It isn't explained at all in the show, but Robert Baratheon does claim the throne through his grandmother, who was a Targaryen princess. So technically Gendry would have some Targaeryen blood, but they never go there on the show.

And I referenced the Fire and Blood book that came out from GRRM and the early years of the Targaryen rein, and there are plenty of isntances where the dynasty moves through some 3rd princess or 5th son ...

Okay so now I've talked myself into it. Dany dies, Jon abdicates. The next in line technically IS Gendry ... as the last remaining son of Robert Baratheon and  1/8 Targaryen. So whether they follow the Baratheon line OR the Targaryen line, Gendry would be #3 behind Jon and Dany.

The show doesn't go into Robert's Targaryen lineage though, so I don't know if the show can go there and have it deliver that way.

You are wayyy overthinking it but thank you for agreeing with me as it feeds my online EGO which is wayyyy important on E.S...  But seriously ask yourself this, Why have they kept Gendry alive & INVOLVED in the series thus far. He must serve some purpose.

Gendry will sit on the iron throne. you heard it here first !!!!

  16. Dany condems Jon Snow to die and trys to burn him with dragon fire, Snow is a Targaryen and cant die from fire , Arya and Jon Snow kill both Dany and her dragon. Jon Snow gives the throne the Gendry Barathion

GENDRY IS A +3000 Vegas odds to sit on throne. If you are a degenerate gambler BET HIM!

  17. Here is how the show will end

Dany will turn on Jon Snow per Grey Worm , If anyone caught the scene where Jon calls back his troops as the slaughter of unarmed Lannisters begins Grey worm looks back at Jon with that stupid look on his face. Dany will sentence Jon to death by fire but Jon snow being a Targeryan will be unharmed by the fire. He will then charge dany and plunge a sword through her at the same time Arya will fly out of a Dark corner and plunge her Valyeran steel dagger through the heart of Drogon the dragon. Jon will declare every house is now free folk and no king shall rule over westeros....

       The End

                                                                                                                             giphy.gif

  18. If George RR Martin is Jack Kent Cooke then David Benioff & D.B. Weiss would be Dan Snyder. Why is it that everything Hollywood touches lately turns to absolute ****. HBO should have just waited for George to finish the books, The season is a mess.

Everything felt so cliche , rushed & cheezy. Dannys 5 minute decent into madness- Varys rushed death - Arya the wall dodger- Jaime's fight with Yuron- Cersai's uneventful death-Clegane bowl draw-Greyworms scowling face- The Harpoons being useless all of a sudden- Dragon fire blowing out a stone wall ? Cmon

It’s a problem that he didn’t finish the books, but millions of other shows can create new content without adapting source material and make a compelling story out of it.

They had 6 seasons of beautiful setup and couldn’t bring it home on their own, betraying the very characters and story they’re built. They are either just bad story tellers or they just got lazy. It’s most likely a mix of the two.

I mean saying Dany “kinda forgot about the Iron fleet” as a justification for being ambushed on an open sea is telling. They are reverse engineering the story from a few wow and setup moments they want to have and don’t care how they get there which causes them to make characters stupid in order to get there because they either can’t write better or won’t take the time to write better.

They also seem to have gone out of their way to really dumb down Tyrion this season which is bizarre seeing as not only has he been a fan favorite forever but his best quality was his intelligence and cleverness.
