  1. Interestingly, one of the people implicated in the creation of one of the videos - who denied it in the Post article - currently works for the Cardinals.
  2. At this point, they're going to let the NFL investigation conclude and then they'll base a decision on suspension or not on what the report concludes. Imagine that would be wrapping up over the next few weeks.
  3. They should've definitely suspended him when they took over the investigation. Since they didn't, I don't think that's in the cards anymore until the investigation is over. My hunch is that the NFL gets back a report that basically says, "Look, we have some very damning, credible stories from a lot of people regarding the culture there over dan's tenure. As far as the videos go, we have reason to believe it's possible he had something to do with their creation, but that will ultimately have to be decided by the trials that are going to be forthcoming, which could yield new information that we weren't able to. And that will be very public." At that point, it seems to me that anyone with any sense at all would THEN suspend the guy as part of the punishment for what the NFL investigation DID uncover and also to shield themselves from more bad PR until the trials conclude. Hoping against hope we'll get even more than that as a result of the NFL investigation, but I'm not banking on it. More than likely, will be awhile yet. All the more reason for the league to get the guy out of the way until we get more answers.
  4. Interesting video on the process of removing an owner. https://www.wusa9.com/article/news/verify/dan-snyder-news-can-nfl-owner-be-forced-to-sell-team/65-37099b6a-5901-441c-8887-5b273e4b5525 My gut feeling is that Snyder will be suspended and fined after the NFL investigation, but not removed. It won't be over at that point, though; the lawsuits regarding the videos will happen AFTER that investigation, so if more comes out through those and Snyder is tied directly to their creation, I'm assuming the NFL could revisit. I feel like they have enough to suspend the guy at this point, but with the threat of trials coming that could expose even more, it would make sense to suspend him until the outcomes of those trials are complete.
  5. Agreed. I got caught up in the comeback yesterday, but for the first time, I really had a hard time fully enjoying it thinking of that lying little twerp taking any pleasure in it as well. That photo was, if nothing else, incredibly blind to the optics currently surrounding this guy's ownership. All you have to do is read the comments on the tweet to grasp that. It would not surprise me at all if Snyder himself ordered that photo to be taken and posted. I can't imagine a social media "expert" worth his/her salt thinking it would be a good idea, considering everything that's happened in recent weeks/months/decades, to post a photo and comment like that right after a win, knowing the comments it would inspire. Just like the nude cheerleader videos ... I submit the very distinct possibility that photo and its subsequent posting was ordered by snyder.
  6. I know people probably want a break from all this, especially after a big win, but this tweet from Valerie Bertinelli cracked me up. The last line at least. Hilarious to me that people are so far behind on our name situation, but very little confusion on Dan Snyder's character.
  7. Now Greg Blache is being thrown into the mix, smh. Not a lot new here other than the above, but interesting nonetheless. https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/columnist/mike-jones/2020/09/13/washington-football-team-dan-snyder-sexual-harassment-investigation/5770595002/
  8. I'm certain that was the case. He probably knows far more about Dan than just these videos. And vice versa. One thing's for certain as far as I'm concerned: either Larry is taking the fall for these videos or Dan is. I firmly believe Dan gave the order, not just because I WANT to believe that, but because it just makes the most sense. We'll see what the investigators can uncover and who out there can grow a pair and spill the beans. Getting Larry to flip is probably an impossibility. Looks like Gloria doesn't have the videos yet, though, but I think from what I've read, Lisa Banks firm does.
  9. Lol, the decline continues. "But ... 8th is still really good! Nothing to worry about!" Shocked they were actually #1 for seven straight years! In the past, it took them 5 years to drop one spot. Now they've fallen 4 slots in 3.
  10. You sure get worked up over what's basically an opinion piece from someone who actually has an understanding of how the NFL owners operate. I personally found a lot of useful information in the article. To go so overboard labeling it "terrible" and "meaningless" is just a bit bizarre. The organization is falling precipitously. From a season ticket waiting list when he took over to 27th in the league last year in attendance. TV ratings plummeting. Value of the franchise - while still high - continuing to fall every year (currently 7th). You see a trend like that in any business, you don't wait until it sinks even further. You change the trend. The NFL tried to help him do that with Lafemina. He spit in their faces. Here are just a few choice quotes from a few articles I've revisited recently detailing the decline of this team: "In just the latest mark of previously unthinkable ignominy, this month saw the Baltimore Ravens, who just secured the AFC’s top seed, utterly eclipse viewership for a Redskins game in the same time slot—in the D.C. market." "In 2008, the team led the league in average attendance, 88,604. By the end of the 2018 season, that number had plummeted 31 percent to 61,028, placing them dead last in the league in terms of percentage of the stadium filled." "The Knicks have much in common with the Redskins—a storied franchise now mired in its own failures, with generations of followers desperate for change." “What’s happened over the 20-year period is that he has taken a franchise that has been universally respected in sports, not just the NFL, and proceeded to drag it down to mediocrity,” Cooke said. “It’s no longer one of the premier sports franchises in the United States.” “If you’d have told me that the Redskins would have been an afterthought in the D.C. market, I would have told you you were crazy,” one NFL power broker said. “But you’re starting to see that. And it’s a concern.” “It doesn’t really affect our revenue sharing these days,” one NFL owner said. “But it’s an important market. It’s a market we need to have a successful franchise.” “It’s more the perception of it,” the NFL power broker said. “You have a top-flight franchise that should be doing very, very well. But they’re not. … It’s just not being run properly.” "Recent seasons have brought troubling external indicators — flagging ticket sales, opposing fans regularly invading FedEx Field, extensive personnel turnover on the franchise’s business side. The Redskins ranked 27th in the NFL in attendance last season and struggled to fill seats even after years of removing them, shrinking the stadium’s capacity." You think owners aren't paying attention to this? This point makes no sense. How do you know the READERS of this piece knew that "the owners never liked him in the past"? I'm sure that's new information to many readers. I figured he wasn't well-liked, but only lately am I fully realizing the extent of that. Not pointless at all. In fact, adds a ton of important context to what could be happening behind the scenes. The example of Richardson played into that nicely. This is laughable. He gives a 50-50 chance Snyder will be removed. That's actually the most specific prediction I've seen on that possibility so far. You want him to commit one way or another? How could anyone with sense do that at this point, with so much still unknown? Quotes like this, from someone who has actually had access to and spoken with these owners, are also new to me: "The league would love an excuse to get rid of him. They have been looking for one for many, many years." The inside info on his ironic friendship with Jerry Jones, and how that could be an issue with Goodell, was also interesting and far from "meaningless" to me and I'm sure others. I had no idea they were THAT close. Explains a lot, though. I'm all for a good debate, but the way you immediately appear and go through exaggerated mental gymnastics routines trying to discredit any of these articles makes it seem like you have two schticks now: the "zombie" and the Snyder defender. Are you angling for inclusion in Snyder's next press release? "Myself, Tanya and the Football Zombie assure you that all is well."
  11. I think this whole "ouster" utterly depends on what happens with the videos, barring some huge sexual harassment bombshell that comes out in the interim that directly implicates Snyder. I agree with those who say what we have now (what we know as the public) is probably not quite enough. However, if the videos can be tied to him, that's when things will turn very quickly. One thing to remember, though, these are videoS, not video singular. And they seem to have been created by people in different years. And we have people both on and off the record in that Post story who WERE involved in some way, so they have to know who the main "players" are in this. Just a matter of getting them to talk. The person who leaked the videos said they grabbed them after witnessing them being made by an editor in 2010, and they also suggested they were told that the order came from Snyder. That editor DID speak in the Post story, but anonymously. He expressed regret and embarrassment for making the videos, but he didn't connect them to Snyder very directly. However, he DID connect them to Larry, who apparently asked for two DVDs labeled "For Executive Meeting." (Said this before, but to think Larry would go to these lengths just to get some nip slips or whatever for his own amusement beggars belief.) Then we have Brad Baker, who went ON the record about the 2008 video, saying that Larry directed the crew to make it but told them the order came from Snyder. We have two more people who were identified by name by Baker as actually making that video (can't remember the names at the moment). Those two of course denied it completely. As of course did Larry. What I'm getting at here is we DO have names of people who were supposedly involved in making these. The Post and apparently the lawyers now actually have the videos. They had them analyzed at Carnegie Mellon, which showed they were legit and not tampered with. The Post says it's clear the footage was shot by the team. So there is a LOT there already for these lawyers to start sinking their teeth into. They have names, they have the videos, etc. Hopefully they'll wear some of these people down and someone will end up corroborating Baker's story that the order came from Snyder himself. I can't see any scenario that makes sense where Baker would be lying about what he saw and heard directly. If Larry ends up flipping and admitting that, then it's game over. But I don't see that happening with this guy. I'm sure he's already got his "30 pieces of silver" and a lot more in exchange for Snyder owning his soul and his conscience. He needs to re-think, though, because it sounds like, at least at the moment, he's the one who's most likely to take the fall for this. Here's an interesting question, though. What if the NFL investigation finishes before these lawsuits conclude, which is very likely. And what if the NFL investigation doesn't find enough to warrant Snyder getting booted, but then, months later, it comes out in a courtroom that Snyder DID in fact order those videos to be made? I'd hope if that happened, the NFL could step in again and finally do what it needs to do. So, it's quite possible the investigation may not bring about what we want, but even if that happens, I don't think this is over until the whole video mess is taken care of.
  12. I could be wrong, but I think she was talking about the videos, not necessarily pending sexual harassment cases. It's possible the videos could have a criminal component and it's DEFINITE that they could have a civil component.
  13. This link should take you to a series of four videos of Megan Imbert's appearance on Fox 5 DC this morning. Really riveting stuff. Again, click below the video to go to the tweet itself, where all four videos are embedded. Guess the appearance was too long for one twitter vid.
  14. VERY interesting read. https://www.washingtonian.com/2020/09/08/dan-snyder-nfl-mark-leibovich-lose-ownership-question/
  15. That's what Megan said on Fox today, that she believes it was probably a yearly occurrence. Why wouldn't it be? I also think the idea that Larry asked for it and lied that it came from Dan to protect himself is idiotic. Why would he take a huge risk like that when he probably could've just gotten the clips on his own from those editors? Didn't he run the whole department? Why in the world would he ask for some produced piece with "classic rock" underneath it for his own jollies, then take that risk by telling people, "Uh, it came from Dan, he wants it" if that wasn't in fact true? Makes no sense at all. Only thing that makes sense is what Baker said in the article, that Dan asked for it, told Larry, and Larry asked the crew to put it together. And apparently did that more than once.
  16. The "what WE know" is the key phrase, because I guarantee you there's a lot being discussed right now that we DON'T know. We have no idea what's being said to the investigators. I'm sure there are probably a lot of people who'd feel more comfortable sharing with this investigation than with a public news outlet like the Post. It's impossible for us to judge this case from the outside right now. Can only hope that more people are coming forward and that these videos are ultimately put at Dan's tiny feet. If the latter can be managed, he is out.
  17. Megan was just on live on Fox 5 here in DC, and THAT was a helluva testimony from her. Hoping a video shows up that can be shared. She mentioned Larry, she mentions thinking there are more than just these 2 videos, that she believes it was an ongoing project with the cheerleaders, believes it came ultimately from the owner, etc. VERY well-spoken and emotional. Best clip I've seen on this yet. Maybe the fact that it was live made a difference.
  18. Just stepping back for a moment to look at this from the eye in the sky ... has there ever been another owner situation like this in sports history, let alone NFL history, where the owner is basically despised universally, constantly in the news for the wrong reasons (and has been for almost his entire 21 years here), has all of these small to mid to now larger level scandals, has multiple exposés written in major newspapers (Times, Post, etc.), is the subject of television specials focusing on his negative culture, faced with coming lawsuits over lewd videos he allegedly ordered to have made on his behalf, has ex-employees of his organization writing open letters to other employees encouraging them to spill the goods on where Jimmy Hoffa is buried AND has turned the franchise's on-the-field product into an utter laughing stock whose TV ratings on gameday have plummeted, stadium is overrun by opposing team fans, etc., etc.? I'm honestly asking the question, as I can be myopic when it comes to sports outside of the area and the problems of other franchises. But I can't think of anything that really comes close to this.
  19. Exactly. I think some of these new hires are great. Jason Wright was incredibly impressive on that show yesterday. Said all the things I'd want someone in that role to say. Where has that been for the last 20 years? Julie Donaldson seems like a good person. Rivera seems like a good person. All good moves it seems. But it's clear to me why those moves were made at this point by Danny, especially the executive hires. It's clear he's hoping people will have that very same lazy reaction: "OK, he finally got it right. Let's give him a chance", lol. It's more transparent than plastic wrap. What's more telling about him is when Lafemina was canned and he immediately brought back his buddy Terry Bateman, who supposedly told the staff, "We're going to go back to how things were now." Then about 40 people quit shortly thereafter. This guy (and Tanya) may have made some good hires for a change, but that shouldn't remotely excuse him for the last 20 years of a truly horrible culture that he happily maintained.
  20. The Wilbon thing could've been done by anyone, really. It was just a very accurate summation of the last 21 years of suck on the field. I actually thought it was well done. As far as the rest of the show, it was disappointing. Thought for sure they'd have expanded interviews with the women, but instead it was just what they already showed plus a bunch of useless talking heads babbling on way too long.
  21. Wow! That letter is pretty brutal and obviously aimed at some specific people. Maybe the ones quoted in the Post initially who denied it? Or Larry himself?
