  1. This is based off a loss in a match for trophy only slightly more meaningful than the International Champions Cup?  Please.....  Last I checked that club ran by clowns is Europe's champs.  Lets revisit the panic when real competitions start.

Ever since they inexplicably got rid of Del Bosque they have been spending the world and playing second fiddle to Barcelona. There's a reason for that and I've been watching Spanish football for a couple of decades not so this is based on a lot more than the Super Copa.

  2. If he's right do you really want to pay that much?

And you can double it with salary over the length of contract.

    Hail.

Hypothetically speaking absolutely he's one of the best players in the world. Will be a fantastic signing for PSG or Bayern.

  3. Incredible conclusion to the Malaga vs Bilbao game. Two red cards to Malaga players for infractions that belong in a wrestling ring followed by a phantom offside that took away a 94th minute equalizer by the Bilbao goalkeeper, concluded by a CLEAR CUT penalty not given to Bilbao. Malaga hold on to a 1-0 win. Only in La Liga.

    Scouse bloke:

Being as though you guys will most likely been getting 0 points This week, I'm dandy
When you guys get a point, holla at me youngin lol

You only got one off of Moyes.

  4. Got a result.

    Can't complain

Last season they would have been blown out 6-0

If someone would have flipped the calendar in the dressing room to March they would have been blown out 6-0 today.

  5. How much money did Everton demand for Jagielka at one point?

RR, a big thank you to your new club. United are ran by clowns but lucky for us there's a club out there being ran by bigger clowns.

  6. Hey, at least Sanchez family has London.

    Hail..

Never understood the fascination with the "false 9". You would think the fact that Messi invented the position would be enough to make managers think it might be hard to duplicate.

It's still August. You'll join in the misery as well soon

Now it's only August? 1 week ago you all had your party hats on ready to celebrate the prospect of United playing in the championship.

    EDIT:

Mark this post. That Besic feller Everton are about to bring will make bigger clubs that were in search of a midfield destroyer kicking themselves in the head.

  7. Ronaldo wouldn't be playing like 40 mins in regular game.  James was a beast and they took him off at half time.  Atletico should be given all the credit for playing the game as a trophy match.  Real you could tell didn't treat it as serious.  Outside of maybe Ramos.  Like I said the manager didn't even.  Though I think Real needs someone along with Benezema.  Lewandowski would have been a great add.  I see them targeting Reus.

I see them targeting whoever sells shirts regardless of how the player fits on their roster.

  8. Because one team took it serious.  Real treated it like a friendly as did the manager.  Ronaldo played less than half the match.  Anyone watching could tell Real wasn't treating it like a real match.

They took the league seriously didn't they? I know they took the CL final they barely won with 2 of Atletico's best players out seriously. Until proven otherwise Real is a better collection of players but I don't know that they're a better team and you don't know too much about Real if you think they weren't taking a derby seriously.

    Behave will yer.

Henry was FAR from a World renowned name when Arsenal signed him. Van Nisyelrooy was certainly becoming far more noticed at PSV when Utd snapped him up but he wasn't as established as Balotelli is right now.

    That was the point.

    Hail.

How established is Balotelli? If you want to count Alexis Sanchez as a winger he's the 6th best forward in the league. (Dzeko, Aguerro, Rooney, RVP, Diego Costa not in any specific order) Still a very good signing that should do great things in the attacking system Liverpool play.

  9. I've been going the game since '81. Regularly since '87/ '88. And in all that time I can't think of one marque World Class statement signing like this.

Litmanen was at the back end of his career. Suarez was only big in Holland. Alonso wasn't the Spanish star he became. We broke the British record for Collymore but he was still just potential. Hyypia unknown. Hamann not really what you'd class in that bracket when we signed him. Even when we signed Johnny Barnes and broke the British record for Beardsley the same week they weren't players known the World over due to the ban.

This is the single biggest transfer I think this club has made in those 33 years in terms of World wide stature and name of player.

And for the pittance paid it could well turn out to be the best value for money bargain we've ever done.

    MAJOR players again.

    Hail.

He's not Henry, he's not even Van Nistelrooy. Let's call him what he is, a very good signing. Not a transcendant player as you would have been quick to remind Arsenal fand had they signed him.

  10. United reach agreement with Sporting over Rojo.

Strange one this on the back of Shaw. One can only presume Van Gaal intends to play him at centre half whilst having reliable left back cover.

IF the fee is reasonable and nothing like the £ 30 million Sporting were holding out for (and Nani has gone on loan for the year to Lisbon as a sweetner); then it's a solid move. You can't really go wrong with Argentine defenders and he looked solid the WC.

But if the fee is 20 million or over, and he sees him as a left back, then it doesn't look too clever.

    Hail.

One of his main draws is that he's accomplished in both positions. If no other deals are made however he should start at CB when Shaw gets back.
  11.  ^ Yes! Was just thinking... people already love Bray. He may not be one of those guys who's face/heel, rather an in-betweener.

I mean, here we have Lesnar, who completely overpowered the face of the company, SuperCENA. So, who stops him? Who could talk the talk like Paul E? Maybe not one man...maybe it takes 3.

Authority in the ring with Brock & Paul E... Paul E starts his spiel: "....my client, BRRR" *lights cut* *lights come on*

Wyatts surrounding Brock in the ring! *high pitched Lawler scream* - Could at least play that out for a while & would be entertaining while waiting for Bryan to make his return.

All that so he can lose to him at a non marquee PPV? Seems like a giant waste of a big swerve. I'd put him in a long feud with the authority culminating with a match against HHH at Wrestlemania. Harper and Rowan would probably have to join the authority at some point though.

  12. You guys are very blasé on Besiktas.

I presume this is down to Fenerbache the other year but you underestimate a trip to Istanbul, particularly this early in he season, at your peril.

Again, I wouldn't like to call this tie.

Napoli going would be a MAJOR bonus to the safety of ANY travelling fan.

    Bilbao not so much.

    Hail.

So I've heard from a mate that lives in Rome. Sicily is an incredible place if you're there an extra day or two after or before the game.

Speaking of away venues, I attended a game at the Inuno where Arsenal will be playing today when my Israeli team played there in 1999. NFL games in Oakland and Philly are trips to Disneyland in comparison.

  13. I think they've already killed that character by playing up the chants and catch-phrases. He was something legitimately different for a while.

The question to me is not how do you turn a swampbilly cult leader face, but why would you do it?

WWE itself has a sort of cult following I feel like people are begging for reasons to get behind this guy. Have him feud with the authority and ultimately HHH. If Reigns enters the title picture which face carries the TV slot? They need a swerve IMO and Swagger didn't do it for me

I toyed with the idea of a Lesnar feud but you don't swerve someone like Wyatt to lose at some micky mouse PPV but if you do the lights out entrance schtick in the middle of some authority P.A the roof would come off the arena. Have an authority appriciation night or something tiresome like that as the last segment on Raw.

  14. Also, it looks as though Man Utd will offer up Nani as part of the deal to bring in Marcos Rojo. Rojo to United will happen, just a matter of formalities. I'd like to know what the United supporters in here think of this move. Rojo seems to have some serious potential but very rough around the edges...not exactly a difference maker for a team trying to finish in the top 4.

It also looks as though QPR are set to seal deals for both Leroy Fer and Eduardo Vargas. Looks like good business to me...also makes me wonder if they'll hang on to Taarabt when he comes fit.

Smart buy IMO. Pacey defender that started in the WC for the finalists and can play two positions very well. He's a league of shadows coming in to restore balance to the squad as like I mentioned before apart from the the No. 10 spot the middle of our squad is awful.

  15. Now the Rock and Cena and Orton have rematch clauses plus the money in the Bank that could get the next title shot with Lesnar. The WWE made a mistake with Lesnar as a part time champion. If they had a problem with Daniel Bryant not being able to wrestle each week or be able to defend the Title more often.

Does the Miz or AJ demand their rematches tonight?

No idea where they go now. I don't know as much as you guys about the biz but I don't feel like they have a face that's over enough to feud with Lesnar as a part time champion. Maybe they just ride Cena a little longer.

  16. You guys lost though. That's the difference.

And we are not the only ppl saying this stuff.

Gibbs gets hurt getting out of bed. Jeez man

Sanogo is out too, which isnt that big a deal since he sucked Saturday but still

That's that then season is over nothing else to talk about. People are talking about the performance more than the result, and Arsenal and Liverpool both turned in disapointing performances too.

  17. Let's be real here Liverpool were very fortunate not to drop points at home too and it wasn't really a "professional" victory like the one City had. Arsenal played a team in utter turmoil at home and didn't exactly set the world on fire. We'll see in a few weeks if it will be just me and RR talking about United or everyone else.

  18. WAIT! The man who has just become the second highest goalscorer through his first 50 games (a phenomenal 36) in Liverpool's history has left too?

Yer know, the dude who put 3 past Timmy Tourette's last term and could even afford to blaze a penalty over to spare you even more anguish :-  :D

    Hail.

It's a whole different ball game when you're not playing along side a player that has opposing defenders constantly scrambling around to try to stop him. Goals are just a part of it.
