  1. As I recall, Joe Theismann was a very good runner who could slide quite well. In fact, his career ended in the pocket.
  2. That's nothing. When the refs refused to give us the TO with 1 sec. on the clock so Moseley could nail a 55 yarder to beat Dallas at the end of 1979, people were hurling their TVs in disgust. And that's when TVs cost a huge part of a guy's wage.
  3. If the team hasn't fixed the facility, they better not be dropping burgers on people. Bad enough dropping lemonade.
  4. That's Kirt Kousins. I want someone who'll be great and I don't care if it's for 7 and then he leaves for HUGE $ after getting a couple of Lombardis for us.
  5. Randall Cunningham could do it all as a QB: pass, run, and punt. I don't know if "No Danny! No!" could run.
  6. Why would anyone believe this? If we decide to run it back with Howell, even with MHJ, I think teams would be looking to play us.
  7. For the QB gurus here, how fixable are the top prospects' flaws? (Obviously height isn't fixable.)
  8. Steve Young. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/Y/YounSt00.htm So the answer is "not often".
  9. It's weird seeing "KK" here. I know of two guys named KK: Downing and Rokossovsky. Both are highly acclaimed in their own particular field. Go KK!
  10. In Basic Training, when speaking with cadre, we had to begin every sentence with "sergeant" and end it with "sergeant": "Sergeant yes sergeant", etc. I had a junior drill sergeant named "Sargent". One day my senior sergeant asked me who told me to do whatever it was I did (I forget). I looked at him and said: "Sergeant, sergeant Sargent sergeant". We looked at each other like, that didn't just happen? "Get out of my office!"
  11. So let's say Kingsbury is in the house working at 3:30 a.m. 18 hour days. Gotta eat. Gotta softserve. Gotta get to and fro home (unless he does the Gibbs thing). I assume he's gotta take care of an itch every once in awhile. When is he sleeping? I know it shows how tough and awesome you are not to get more than a couple hours of sleep a night, but that's not healthy, especially for your brain, and if you're the OC and your brain isn't working, well, how is that good for your team?
  12. 1999 was like 2012 - a great season that ended ignominiously. The team was fun to watch, had an offense, and we were finally thinking, Washington is back. Back like Brigadoon, the mythical Scottish village that reappears from the mist every 100 years.
  13. Thurman Thomas couldn't find his helmet to start the game and Andre Reed body slammed his helmet onto the field during the game. That's some bad coaching. On the other side of the ball, well, remember folks, Tom Brady was not the first 6th round QB to be named Super Bowl MVP. That said and to bring this back to the topic at hand - Dan Quinn - I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. Bill Belichick didn't win a SB in his first head coaching stint - and only had 1 good year. Just don't cut the punter to send a message, Dan, Tress is one of our best players.
  14. The 1991 Redskins were about as balanced as a team could get - 1st in PF, 2nd in PA, 4th in yards for (I'd wager because we got a lot of turnovers giving us short fields), 3rd in yards against, 3rd in turnovers for and against, and we thoroughly beat a Buffalo team with HOFers or HOFer candidates on both sides of the ball.
  15. I think Denzel would be a fantastic head coach. He's already played the part on the silver screen (coaching a local high school to boot). He's one of the greatest actors in history and as a man, he commands -- yes commands -- respect. He would need good coordinators, but he can call "fake 23 blast with a back side George reverse" like nobody else. Seriously, when Denzel Washington walks into the locker room, the team, to a man, will genuflect to greatness. Don't overthink this.
  16. Those emails, however obtained including by violating every law, convention, and treaty on Earth, are POISON to this franchise currently still scrubbing the stench of Dan Snyder. He ain't coming here.
  17. My best moment was getting taken off ES restriction.
  18. Showtime! Bring it. I'm ok with having Magic head coach for a year. All he has to do is motivate men to buy in, exceed their capabilities, and do what their position coaches/coordinators want them to do.
  19. I had a long chat with a very close friend who's a 9ers fan (given that we live in/near San Francisco). His position was that the Commies should draft MHjr. because he's a sure-bet Hall of Famer. I asked who would throw the ball to him. "Figure it out." Ok....
  20. To be fair, there's also a matter of depth. Maye is closer to the camera than Howell. So while he certainly is bigger, this view isn't likely an accurate comparison of the two.
