Rivera era started without any drama now he gets the real Washington experience. Redskins park is burning again and the media mop is at the gates yelling. See how he can handle this.

I dont see a season beeing played. But I don't know what that does to contract years...
I do wonder how much contact staff has with players. Can we expect hole team to know the O and D already?

Like I said as an RB it is a stupid pick. WR it is a smart pick. Hybrid is a fancy way of saying he doesn't have a true position. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Makes way more sense as a WR
Yeah put me in this group.
I like the guy his upside and playmaking ability but he isn't a pure RB. His vision is nowhere close to the backs we have. I think you just need to get him in space with quick slants and screens. For the 3th down back his pass pro needs to be top notch. Can't find any info about that.
But I must be honest. Was this the player who is going to help us the most? It all depends on how much Turner is going to be able to get this guy on the field and be productive. So I'm a bit skeptical.
Love the upside but it's a high risk.

JP Finlay on just now, he said from what he heard O'Connell wasn't thrilled about the idea of having to do a 2nd interview (after the first) and Rivera wanted to fill out his staff didn't sit well with him so the interview process didn't go hot. So he more or less is running with Hoffman's story.
I posted this the same day as the news broke we hired O assistants. Was for me trigger that KOC would not stay. You don't want to be coordinator of 10 guys who know each other.
And shame on the guy who mentioned the Bingo caller 😂. Let's not get back to the three headed play calling with delay.

At least sign a guy who wants and believes in Haskins. I don't need a Jay RGIII 2.0. He doesn't have to hand him the job but needs to believe in him as a prospect.

Not huge fan of how we are building the O side of the staff. We already brought in position coaches but no OC? Don't they need to match each other? I thought the reason why Del Rio was in the house was so they could discus the rest of the D staff.
I'm not saying the OC should hire his staff but would be nice if he could have input. Now you might force stuff.
For me this also shuts the door on KOC. If they are still discussing the position and the guy starts hiring his old O coaches, I would not feel comfortably. "You can run your off but I want it to look like this and these coaches can help you with it". And if Ron doesn't like your playcalling its s easy move to go to his guys who "know what he wants".
In general I'm always dissapointed by the hiring of NFL position coaches. I never feel like there is a real "interview proces". You just need to know the HC and you got the spot. Would be lot of work to interview 3 guys for all positions but then you can find some gems. Why was a Ike Hilliard not interviewed for the WR job? At least talk to him and see if he is better then the guy you always worked with. Take an open minded approach.

I just like that we go through the right motions. Rivera could have come in and brought in his guys straight. He gives FO and some coaches a shot to stay/earn a spot.

Holy smokes 😂 if Skins suck this year we might need to skip to college ball. Maryland is murdering an opponent for the second week in a row. Might put 70 points on a ranked team...

All practices are closed to the public after training camp ends.
Some beat reporters get some access, I guess, but that's about it.
Aaaargh sucks!

Qeustion!
I will be, for the first time, in the US (DMV) for a week. But we play an away game :(. Are there any options to watch practises during the week? Or is everything closed for fans?
Otherwise I might need to contact the skins to see if they can make an exception.

If he really produces then he not only surprised our FO but all the others too. If I look at the WRs taken before him.
Should we now need to worry about our #1 WR beeing on special teams 😂 injury risks and getting tired

I compiled scenarios for WAS to make it to the playoffs by showing what our competitors, Carolina, Atlanta, and Detroit (Seattle ends up 10-6 in all of these scenarios) need to win/lose in wks 13, 14, 15, 16, and 17. Of course for any of these to work, WAS needs to win out.
Thank you, please update this every week. Safes me a lot of time

This is crazy talk.
But I love that we play the Chiefs next week. It would be typical Redskins to play against a cupcake team like the Browns and just lose. Go in with to much convidence, look us beeing great.
Chiefs are real threat. We need to play top notch to beat them. This is a game that shows if last week was a lucky shot or of we are really good.
I do wonder if at the end of the season teams figure out how to handle our moving o-lineman. Now we suprices people but that wont last long in the NFL. The most analyzed sport in the world after baseball (I think).

It's not worth it. When you win, you get to go to a restaurant of the Mods choosing (most have picked Olive Garden and Golden Corral in seedy neighborhoods). And you have to provide your own way to get there and drinks aren't included.
Ugh thats gonna cost me then...
Thought it would be a Daniel Snyder FA treatment. Pick me and my family up with the Redskins one. Show me Redskins parc and the throphys. Meet some legendary Skin like Green. And end in a fancy restaurant

Just discovered that ES has a ''days won'' thingy on profiles. But I can't see my own?
Somebody go to my profile and tell me if I ever won at ES. Give me that 5 seconds of happiness.

Why is one of the exemptions for hard knocks a playoff appearance within the last two years?
Is the nfl essentially admitting that is a disadvantage being on hard knocks and stipulating that the good teams with the most likely chance of success not have to handicap themselves so to speak?
If so why on earth do even bad teams with at least some hope not put up a fight?
Because they need to sell tickets?

Is the Redskins coach watching the DB drills on the field Torrian Gray?

Pff the Nerherlands
I have read and heard different reports here in the Dutch media about the Super Bowl. I have seen non that goes about the game...all of them only focus on the Half time show or the current US president.
...they don't even mention who plays in the game.

@wilco_holland That was hilarious, but there's no politics in The Stadium, including this thread. There's a Random "Thot" Thread in the Tailgate for stuff like this, among the political threads themselves. Please post it there if you'd like, thanks.
Ah okey will move it then. Never come outside of the stadium and thought this might fall outside the political posts.

Isn't there normally some kind of end of year presser? Anyone know when that might be? I'm anxious to hear what Allen/McCloughan have to say about the new hires, and of course Kirk's situation
Most teams have them early januari. Can't remember if we had one last year.
I will send question on twitter to some Redskins media dudes.

Very true. At minimum, I believe it's why we don't see more younger fans (teenagers or very early 20s) here like we used to back in the day.
That moment when you no longer belong to the youngest fans. 26 already

Yes Warren looks to be an easy addition beeing former Skins great and having a relation with Ron.
But the hire could show us who is in command. If I'm Ron I would say "Kyle hire who YOU want. He works on your team. Get me somebody you are comfortable with" instead of "I know and like this guy. Good luck with him".
