  1. Kudos to the BobFather on some great match matching if he's actually able to follow thru on this http://espn.go.com/blog/dan-rafael/post/_/id/13082/arum-planning-blockbuster-card-in-uae
  2. GGG probably can beat Lara, almost sure of it. But he's also there to beat hit, a lot. If Lara can manage to avoid those hammers, he can win a decision. Of course, waay easier said than done. Saw recently Mikey said he's coming back and will campaign at 140. So this dream matchup definitely can become reality. As long as Bob let's Todd handle things, we could get this fight next year.
  3. Berto-Alexander is almost done.
  4. Erislandy Lara has been calling out GGG for a while now. He just touched down in Chi today in preparation for his upcoming bout and called out 3G once again. He's been basically screaming for this fight to be made. This would be a good step up in competition for 3G and could really silence the resume' critics such as myself. A win over Lara would also put him on the map to set him up for much bigger fights and higher purses. This is a fight I would love to see. 3G either stops Lara or gets outboxed thru 12.
  5. Lol very much so. He actually has a fight next Sat in his home town.
  6. Andre Ward-Sergey Kovalev ppv bout on tap for early nxt year.
  7. I think he gives Leo the fight of his life.
  8. Abner Mares guarantees he's fighting either Leo Santa Cruz or Gary Russell Jr next
  9. Very true but that shouldn't take away or discredit what Cotto has done in the sport. He can't be penalized for Canelo's resume'. Agree 100%
  10. Good point and I'm sure Oscar will be echoing your sentiments at the negotiating table. But imho Canelo has not yet done enough to warrant 50/50 with Miguel Cotto. Cotto has been the 3rd biggest ppv draw in the sport for a long time. Canelo has shown his drawing power but he has yet to prove he can be a consistent ppv attraction as Cotto has. Not sure exactly how many ppv fights Cotto has had but I'm sure it's close to double digits and he has been A-side in all but 2 (Of course against May and Pac). Canelo had the HUGE ppv with Mayweather bc he was touted as "the one to finally take away the 0". Canelo has a strong, strong Mexican following but I'd argue that Cotto's Puerto Rican presence is just as strong if not stronger but definitely more consistent thru out the years. The 50/50 argument can be made as saying Cotto is own the "downside" of his career and Canelo is the "rising star" here but this will probably be the first time that argument held much weight at the negotiation table. With all that being said, I believe 55/45 in favor of Cotto is more than fair for Cotto. Also expect Canelo to get A LOT of say-so during the negotiations. The one thing I'm most interested to see is, at what weight will they decide to fight.
  11. I said the same thing last nite lol Somebody just reminded me what I posted here a while back about Canelo being HBO's stipulation to Cotto for picking up the Geale fight. Cotto owes one more fight to HBO and it looks like it's going to be Canelo in the 4th quarter of 2015. Canelo just has to put his ego aside and realize that Cotto is A-side. Fight should be pretty easy to negotiate.
  12. Looking more and more like Brook gets the call for Sept.
  13. Hearing crazy news today. Everything seems all over the place. Don't be so sure about that Cotto-Canelo match up just yet. So I'm hearing Khan is about 90% out of the picture as Floyd's Sept opponent bc of that bad outing against a supposedly much lesser opponent in Algieri. So what it comes down to is this: If Floyd keeps that WBO strap, we'll see Floyd unify the titles in September. Meaning Kell Brook would get the call. If he doesn't, there's a strong possibility we get a Cotto rematch for that 160lb strap. If anybody is actually interested, I'll try to keep you up to date once I hear of any changes on anything being set in stone.
  14. I know Canelo has been trying to move Mayweather off his money dates in May & September but hasn't had the opponent to do it. A Cotto-Canelo match up would pose a serious threat to Floyd's ppv #s this fall. Wonder how this plays out..
  15. Who's your money on in that one??
  16. Geale tips the scale @182 tonight.
  17. I respect the WBO's position about one fighter holding multiple belts and in multiple weight classes. But why try to back door Mayweather and allow Bradley-Vargas to fight for a vacant title that was never officially vacated? Mayweather generally has no dealings with the WBO and they're pretty tight with Arum. They basically tried to save face for Arum bc as it stands right now, Top Rank fighters have ZERO belts to chase. Oh ****ing well! They're savior couldn't get the job done May 2nd so that's too damn bad. I'm glad Mayweather's lawyers stepped in and got that extension granted. I don't think Floyd would fight to keep it and willingly pay the sanctioning fees unless he was planning to unify. Of course I could be wrong but I'll call it now, Brook becomes #49 in September.
  18. Call me crazy but this article says Mayweather-Brook Phase 1 http://www.boxingscene.com/mayweather-vs-wbo-letters-exchanged-extension-set--91968
  19. Yea this fight was basically a confidence builder for Angulo. He looked slow as molasses in there. The moment he steps back in there again against decent comp, it's not gonna end well for him.
  20. Alfredo Angulo is fighting.
  21. 97-92 definitely has some Haymon influence on it.
  22. This was definitely a much more difficult fight than Guerrero signed up for.
  23. Martinez giving Ghost a taste of his own medicine. I smell an upset brewing here. Ghost took Martinez too lightly and it's showing.
  24. I've been following their little "back n forth" these past couple wks. It's getting kinda serious but Freddie's in his feelings bc he knows Paulie is 100% right. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9S14OYAzs4o&feature=youtu.be
