  1. I had a girl tryout for my soccer team this past summer. She used to play soccer and had switched to play lacrosse but was now back. I asked her parents why she was coming back and the response was, "she didn't like all the running in lacrosse." I was like WTF?? I cut her.
  2. Did you all catch that scoreline from Newcastle and Aston Villa? 6-0 Newcastle and they just came back up from being relegated. And it's not like they were scoring on some chump—AV's goalie was Brad Friedel, still the best American keeper.
  3. why not? I'd probably move back to DC for that. http://www.soccer.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Merchant_Id=1&Ne=178&N=4294960226+564+4294959905+285&Product_Id=380550 These uniforms with "ExtremeSkins" emblazoned on the front. Skins logo as our "crest" Tight!!!
  4. The players are coming off long seasons, in a tournament like the WC they play multiple games on short rest. I think it's a great idea for the knockout stages. Go straight to penalties after regulation. IMO, the players are so tired after 90 + minutes that the quality of play drops dramatically. Can't eliminate ties in the group stages. The points awarded make the permutations and scenarios interesting.
  5. SA, when you guys go into a spin or do donuts down there is it in a counter clockwise motion? Also, are you Australian? If so, how does an Aussie choose to become a Redskins fan? Which football is tougher? Ours or Aussie rules?
  6. The engine blew on my 2003 Honda Accord and it cost me just under $2500 to get a new engine. I found engines on eBay for half of what my mechanic was charging me for the replacement engine, but he claimed that his engine offered a warranty. There are cheaper ways to get a new engine but this is the route I chose, because ultimately any other option wasn't saving me any real money. The bulk of the cost of repair was labor. The garage I had it towed to had a good reputation, but also not cheap. I could've tried to shop around but any savings I would've gained would've been eaten up by towing costs.
  7. oh, so are apprenticeships still the way to go? I mean, I have a full time gig so I can't go be an apprentice or take classes full time. I don't think it would even be cost effective in the long run, but it's just something I want to be knowledgeable about.
  8. I def need to get more knowledgeable on how to fix my own car. Where do mechanics go to get their training? I'd like to be able to do things above basic maintenance stuff.
  9. Yeah, hard to argue that Mayweather has the physical attributes that Manny doesn't. As a Pac-man fan he does look like he has something to hide, ALTHOUGH he has no problem taking a post fight blood test. I think that should be sufficient.
  10. I just tried Straub Special Dark for the first time last weekend. I don't know what the beer's rep is, but I thought it was pretty good. Unless my brother-in-law was lying to me, I guess they're known for having all natural ingredients and no preservatives.
  11. They might have chains throughout Germany, but the orig one is in Munich. DYK that every region/state in Germany has it's own type of beer that it specializes in? Like it's a matter of regional pride or something.
  12. I'm a DC transplant!! Trust me I :puke: everyday at the thought of this place.
  13. They just opened a Hofbrauhaus here in Pittsburgh. The waits are ridiculous, but it's a dead ringer for the original in Munich.
  14. Engine air filter. How often should this be replaced?
  15. totally depends on the situation. Extended drinking (i.e. tailgating situation): I prefer Yuengling Lager from a bottle. No cans, if it can be helped. I like Hefeweizens and dark Belgian beers if it's just with dinner and I'm not allowed to get tanked. oh and a Hofbrauhaus (like the one in Munich) just opened up here in Pittsburgh!
