So I think I figured it out- Its impossible to play defense from a pass coverage perspective. Literally impossible. Offensive play call's should always be straight 9 routes. Best case- talented receiver makes a great catch. Best case scenario B- Defensive back commit's pass interference. The absolute worst case scenario- incomplete pass. Easy
Doesn't matter. The point remains- This league is offensive driven. Pool every single ****ing asset into finding an elite QB. Start there and build. That's it. I would trade every single first round D-lineman we drafted, for Josh Allen. Every single one. And if that fails? trade every single first round pick to move up and try again. Every time.
He's been had some chips from TE's and RB's, but nothing too substantial. So far, he's certainly not the generational pass rush talent you draft with the 2nd overall pick. Hope it changes. Not particularly optimistic
Don't worry. once the Bills go up 14-0, we'll get some makeup calls. Won't make a difference, but at least the "officiating crew" can cite that they were "impartial."
Absolutely agreed, and no one wants to talk about it. Even with the addition of a healthy Matt Ioannidis. The front seven features 5 first round draft picks. Still waiting for that investment in talent, to show up
Agreed. And I'm very cognizant that its literally one game. But I can't discard the feeling that our vaunted D-line isn't as dominant as we perceive. I think Rio has to be more aggressive, defensively, moving forward.
They were gassed on the first drive of the game. See James Smiths-Williams offside penalty. Also, 14-18 third down percentage, defensively, is as much on them, as it is on the back seven. The D-line was very far from, "elite" today. Just a fact.
