We're not a bad team...we're like most NFL teams, flawed but capable. Hell, we beat the Eagles in Philly on national tv and manhandled them. And hopefully the coaches are finding out about Howell in practice, film sessions and other ways.

I agree. I believe what is lost in all of this is that coaches are in the business to win games. We are mearly fans who wont lose their job if player X or Z works out or not. We also dont see the dudes in practice on a day in and day out basis.  You would hope that the coaching staff would play the players that would give team the best chance for winning games because if they dont the termination is coming soon. Ron sticking with Hieny tells me he is the best of what we got from a coaches confidence perspective. If it is anyone else then the season is over and they are in evaluation mode. Our pot of QBs is weak at best and it is what it is. We have our backup as the starter and the starter is a castaway after injury so thats never good situation. FWIW the scenario does tell us about Howells readiness. If Howell isnt ready and Ron just throws him out for ****s and giggles it can derail his carreer long term. That is malpractice and unfair to Howell.

To be clear, I agree that TH is limited and has a ceiling.  He will not grow 3 inches or have a cannon arm.

But I think his production can be better than We've seen if we had better pass protection and/or better O-Coordinator.

I agree with this. IMO it is hard to judge with total conviction based on coaching decisions and our current sitch on the Oline. BTW I am not sure we would have lost if we called all BRob runs last game. Not even kidding a little. How good would BRob be with a decent OLine? I am picking up Johnathan Taylor vibes from him as far as next year goes. As far as coaching, I was warming up to Turner but he lost me again after last week. Pound the ****ing rock and stop being cute. Jeez.  Let BRob do BRob and allow Heiny to play to his strengths and limit his weaknesses with the easy third down shortys and play action.  Alas, Scott's plan backfired and we lost but I truly believe he was attempting to throw smoke and mirrors to the 9ers with the idea that Kyle Shanny would be distracted by what we are not. NEWS FLASH...We are not dynamic, nor is Heiny special but at least Turner should recognize this and put his players in positions where they can succeed. That is soley on him. And for the love of God I hope he realizes Curtis Samuel is not Deebo Samuel. Now that the cat is out of the bag and Turner is admitting he ****ed up, will the 9ers be able to stop the BRob show next week? I doubt it if our D shows up.

I'd rather see that game so I could root for the Panthers. I mean we already know the outcome of our game and it could get ugly. Might as well be rooting for the Panthers and then the Packers in week 18 while watching us try and beat the Cowboys.

we already knew the outcome of the Philly game too. Or did we?

no, they never even put in a claim on Mayfield. Rams were the only team that did.

I stand corrected. i could have sworn during the Thursday Nighter they said SF was in on Mayfield. There is now reports now that SF was bluffing an interest to trick LA in to claiming him. I would love to be a fly on the wall when Shanny and Mcvay jab at each other on the golf course in the off season.

he started a 7th rd rookie and didnt even try to bring in competition. Having that kind of faith in your qb is beyond just next man up.  Yes, SF O-line is better but its not like Howell is not mobile.  I am half joking anyway.... just irritated that the only place we are going with Heini is out of any decent pick for a franchise QB next year.

They were in on Mayfield but Rams beat them on waivers.
