I'm starting to fear with the rampant speculation that the actual article will come out and people will think "that's not as bad as it could have been". Come on WaPo, release the Kraken!

A new owner might be the only thing left to reinvigorate this franchise. Some people were saying the new branding would bring in new fans. I don’t buy it though. Winning is what matters and Snyder has proven he can’t build a winning organization. My fandom has been on the wane for a few years now. Too many roller coaster rides and winning the off season. I’m not sure I want to keep investing time into Snyder’s team regardless of the name. A new owner though, that’s a different story.

It must be nice to be a reporter covering the
Skins. The articles practically write themselves. Half of them have probably already started a draft stating that Snyder only announced the name change to distract from _____. They just need to fill in the details. And nobody will be able to prove them right or wrong. Sweet gig. -

How many folks [have] finally cracked?
Based on this thread? Quite a few. 😉

I'm very interested to see where each of our ex-coaches end up, if people could post that here.
I saw a graphic on TV with Tomsula going to the cowboys. Don't know if anything was announced or if that was just speculation.

Wasn't this at the end of the year? I know they lost the last several games. I'm guessing being behind that much may have skewed the numbers somewhat.

Gotten a little behind on the threads. Has this been confirmed anywhere?

I married a Texas lady. Her family is just as fatalistic about the Cowboys as we are about the Redskins.
I did enjoy a brief look at Cowboys Zone and everyone talking themselves into liking this hire.
Honestly I think it's more of the media than the regular fans. I have one co-worker up here that's a Cowboys fan (she grew up in Iowa of course). She's pretty fatalistic as well especially about their owner and his meddling. I think she's cautiously optimistic about McCarthy as well.

Au contraire. It's simply the delicious buildup to another excruciating 8-8 disaster for "America's Team."
True, but dealing with Cowboy fans between now and then is 🤮

This is going to suck for one reason, just saw the TV in the break room and the trailer at the bottom says: "Mike McCarthy makes Cowboys Superbowl contenders"... 🤮
A whole offseason of this crap.

I know Garrett is rumored to be close with the Maras. He's also used to working with Jones as GM so Gettleman can't be too much worse, right? So maybe that's the landing spot for him.

What the heck is Jerry doing?
Driving the Cowgirl fans crazy. Got a co-worker who's a Dallas fan at work and every day I ask her about "The Clapper" just because it annoys her. 🤣 She can't wait for him to be gone.

I actually watched the last two this weekend to remind me before I go and see the “latest and greatest”. Still feeling a little loopy...

This is almost as good as watching someone's YouTube channel when he watches it for the first time only it takes a lot less time for us.

Congrats Nats fans from an Os fan. I moved out of the area a long time ago before the Nats moved from Montreal so I don't have any feelings one way or the other about them but I do still have family in the area. I'm just glad for long-suffering DC fans that they're seeing some success from some of their sports teams.

Pizza Ranch! Oh wait, that was the Kurt Cuzins thread in the Tailgate. Never mind, carry on.

According to Elias, CD will be back next year. Sounds like they don't really want to eat the contract. I guess we'll see depending on how he does in spring training. Still hopeful they just walk away from him and the contract and eat it.

More house-cleaning for the Os:
Elias makes sweeping changes to Orioles' staff
Come on Elias, build us a good foundation!
-
I don’t pay that much attention but I know the Os farm system was not very highly rated until this year.
-
Of course you could argue that stripping the big club of all talent thru trades built a lot of that farm system.
-
Elias rebuilding the front office & scouting departments. Build us a good organization Mike!

Pretty good debut for Hunter Harvey. I BB and two Ks. Throwing 98+ mph. Let’s hope he can stay healthy.

Getting anxious for September call ups. Maybe we’ll get to see some of the future. About the only thing left of this dreadful season.

Givens tries to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory once again. Big comeback by Peterson & Ruiz. Nice victory.
Gotta wonder when they’ll get tired of the big hole in the lineup that CD creates. 0 for 4 with 4 Ks and one barely deep enough sac fly. Just a waste of a spot.

A New Start! (the Reboot) The Front Office, Ownership, & Coaching Staff Thread
in The Stadium

This is where I'm at as well. I've mentioned in this and other threads that my fandom has been waning. Just too much effort to put into it any more without any real benefit. The most fun we get is offseason threads like this. The name change had me waffling about continued support but then I realized it wasn't the name but Snyder's continued ownership under the new name. So if Dan survives this, I'm most likely done as a 'die hard'
Skinsfan. I'm sure I'll still pay attention to the standings and watch the few games they are on TV out here in Minnie-Snow-Ta, but beyond that, they won't get any more of my time and energy. Having said that, I hope he gets bounced out and new ownership takes over that can reinvigorate the franchise and my fandom.
