The Germans had 67 shots in 3 games and could only muster 2 goals from it, that's crazy.
Would have loved to see Mexico go out, they are who I thought they were. They tried to pay more aggressive today and they got killed for it. They will be back to playing bunker ball in the next round.
Its been a rough couple days but I knew it was coming for some time now. My 15-year-old Pit Bull mix "Romeo" had to be put down today because his lungs were failing, he lived 5 years past the average age of a Pit Bull so I feel good about that.
I've had him so long, it's going to be tough not having him around.
Here's to you Romeo.
Because white girls don't run from the cops, a majority of these cases involve people running from the cops or being belligerent towards police officers.
People need to smarten up, don't talk **** to cops and don't run from them.
I can live with it, I have for 44 years so it won't keep me from watching but I have seen so many big games where judgment penalty kicks have changed the outcome, no different than in any other sport I suppose but IMO the PK trumps them all because its most likely going to be a goal and many soccer games are won by just one goal.
Its one of the very few things I gripe about concerning football, I've loved this sport my entire life, just a little nitpick session by me.
I really don't know what you mean in your quote, when a bad penalty kick is given it can change a game and the entire tournament.
Of course there has to be penalties but I was specifically talking about penalty kicks. I 100% disagree there would be only a goal every 4-5 games if they fixed the current pk system, that doesn't even make sense.
Cant get rid of offsides but if you're going to change something then change the pk rules, there are too many inconsistent calls made and IMO unless a player has a clear opportunity to score then he or she shouldn't be awarded a penalty kick.
Nothing is worse than seeing a player taken down right inside the 18 box on the endline and they get a pk, chances are they weren't going to score and the refs bailed them out.
IMO the pk rule is the worst rule/penalty in all of sports and it needs to be reassessed.
Peru is better than they played in their 1st game, I wouldn't be surprised if they upset France today, I haven't been impressed with France going back to the friendly vs the USA.

So far out of all the teams, I think Portugal and Spain look the best, I wasn't impressed with France, Germany, and Brazil and unfortunately, I didn't get to watch today's games.
I think this tournament is wide open for anyone to grab.
I don't watch much Spanish football but I can't imagine any top-tier club or national team playing that style, makes no sense unless you're undermanned.
Are you talking style or formation?
For 20 years I've been listening to the Mexicans say they can compete for a WC and they are still a tier 2 team, at best. Every WC they get out of the group and lose in the round of 16.
They definitely won't win a cup playing the way they did today, they won today's game the way an inferior team tries to win a game against a powerhouse, it was weak and it annoys me because for years they gave us **** about playing bunker ball.
I hate them worse than the Cowboys.
People will read more into this win than it was, Mexico had 2 shots the entire 2nd half, Germany had 25 shots on the game and 61% possession, they played fine they just couldn't finish and they were lackadaisical in the first half.
I've never seen the Germans have such a hard time scoring, I only watched the 2nd half and they absolutely dominated Mexico.
Good strategy by Mexico, when you know you cant match up talent wise playing the counter can be effective.
I didn't see a penalty except for the handball by the Mexican that wasn't called.
