Based on what Schlereth mentioned about his discussion with Johnson and what Johnson said today as to why he passed on the job it sounds like he wants a plug and play situation when it comes to QB. I dont think he wants to groom a rookie.

Could be but there are no guarantees, when somebody dangles that check and gives you an opportunity I would jump on it. They play a first-place schedule next year and who knows when Goff will fade like he did at LA. I kind of feel like he knows he's not ready and he tried to price himself out of the market and then got nervous when he found out people may actually be willing to stroke that check.

Definitely not losing any sleep over Ben Johnson but it's curious to me that he keeps passing up jobs. Makes me think he's questioning himself and his ability to be the face of a franchise. I can't imagine it was easy to pass up the payday he was going to get and with all the new people we have in the front office it doesn't make sense that he passed on us because he doesn't see value.

I think there's two or three coaches out there that can do a good job for us. I'm definitely not going to lose any sleep if we don't get Ben Johnson. The most important part of our off-season was nailing the GM which hopefully we have done because without a QB none of these guys are going to be worth a s***.

Quinn doesn't excite me, he's 500 as a head coach with a solid QB at the helm and I can't get that blown 28-3 lead in the Superbowl out of my head.

My thoughts on Louis Riddicks tweet about Dan Campbell is that Sirianni looked like a great leader of men too until he lost his offensive and defensive coordinators.

I agree, 100%, the NFL chews up and spits out billionaires but his history at Philly and NJ is all we have to draw any conclusions as to what he'll be here. I'm realistic that he needs some time so there won't be any harsh judgments from me for at least a couple of years unless he goes full Tepper. Where I think he will win early and often is with business and public relations, I think they know that's where they can make an immediate impact and buy some goodwill with the fans.

I dont think you're being negative, you're being honest about the results, something you dont see too much on ES. I too am not that impressed with what he's done in the NHL or NBA. It took 5 years to make the playoffs for the Devils and half the league makes the playoffs. All those blown picks for the Sixers have them trapped in the 2nd round of the playoffs each year. I'm glad we have anyone but Dan but I dont see anything in either team that makes me think Josh has a secret sauce to success in sports ownership. I'm hoping the mistakes he made with the Devils and Sixers will help him, honestly I wish he would sell those piece of **** franchises and focus on this team.

Rons is a good dude so while he may not have been a good coach I do think we needed him in 2020, I'm not sure who else takes this job knowing Dan would be their boss. His downfall was not going QB and letting his defensive brain pick Chase. His first year was nuts with the cancer, scandal, 2nd pick in the draft, new name, it was a lot to deal with and he deserves some credit for hanging in there but I wonder how it would have worked out if he had taken Herbert or Tua, might have been a completely different outcome.

What is a "true rebuild"? The definition of a rebuild IMO is to find a QB, once that happens you can fill in the gaps quickly and become a competitive team.

I don't know how involved Spielman will be the personnel decisions, maybe not at all. I wonder if he still thinks Maye is a poor man's Trevor Lawrence?
