  1. I agree. I just have never been that impressed with him. I have seen a good amount of his games, probably not as many as some Terp fans, but quite a few. And I have seen him play really well, and I have seen him look overmatched. He definintely has the size, but I don't think there is anything else that overwhelms me enough to take him that high in the draft.
  2. I think we can leave politics out of this, or at least say politician-esque because that quality is possessed by a lot more politicians than Romney these days.
  3. I enjoyed the first episode. Not much interaction between the coaches, althought there was some playful ribbing during the fights. I liked the changes in how they shot the episode and there were some really good fights. It has been a while since I have really looked forward to TUF, and now I am. There seem to be some good prospects this season. I think now, it is obvious that the live format was probably a bad idea, as well as broadcasting on Friday nights. I will definitely watch it more, now that it is on Tuesdays. FYI: The UFC 158 presser is today with Diaz and GSP. Although it was supposed to start 10 minutes ago...http://www.mmajunkie.com/news/2013/01/watch-todays-ufc-158-kickoff-press-conference-on-mmajunkie-com-at-10-a-m-et
  4. Yeah, I saw that list, and its pretty exciting. As for Mousasi, I don't know. I think he was cruising there for a little while and it showed in his performance. But I read an interview where he essentialy said that he was really excited about the possibility of fighting in the UFC and that it had rejuvenated him. Like Patrick says, his wrestling has improved. It is still his biggest weakness, but it is better. I really don't know what to expect from Mousasi, but like a lot of these Strikeforce guys, I am excited to see some of the potential matchups and what he can do against some better competition.
  5. I wouldn't be so sure. I used to like Barnett a lot, but he is sounding very pompous lately. I am skeptical of whether he ends up in the UFC or not. In his post fight interview the other night, he was talking about all of the other heavyweights outside Zuffa...who is that exactly? Bellator's heavyweight champ quit to work a 9-5 job and they did not have much of a division in the first place. Maybe Arlovski, Brett Rogers? It just seems like he is already making excuses for not going to the UFC. Then again, maybe he is trying to build some leverage. But he is not the same fighter he was a few years ago and does not have the same drawing power. A few losses and a few PED suspensions will do that. I would put the chances at 50/50 for Barnett to make any more UFC appearances. I think he could just as likely head back to Japan and do some pro wrestling and have some scattered MMA fights in smaller promotions. http://www.mmajunkie.com/news/2013/01/free-agent-josh-barnett-the-right-deal-is-needed-to-make-me-exclusive-to-ufc
  6. That may have been even more brutal than Aldo-Faber. At least Faber blocked a few and started getting the leg out of the way. Nate probably did not have a great day today.
  7. I DVRed the postfight show, and one minute into it, I want to turn it off. Karyn Bryant is anchoring it, and I have flashbacks to EliteXC. I can't stand her. Jay Glazer gets a little annoying at times, but I would take him every time over Bryant. She is a mess. ---------- Post added December-30th-2012 at 01:50 AM ---------- In dominating fashion. 8. Fudge. I forgot about that. I blame the booze.
  9. No kidding. Those "fans" booed a lot tonight when they shouldn't have. If you want to watch boxing...go watch boxing. Anyways...Man, Cain mauled JDS. I did not expect that. I would love to see Cain-Cormier soon. I think their wrestling would cancel out and they both have really heavy hands. I think it would be a hell of a fight. I think we will see it eventually, but we will probably see JDS-Cain III first, especially since Cormier still has another fight on Jan. 12 and they will probably give him another fight before challenging for the UFC belt. But regardless of all that. well done, Cain. ---------- Post added December-30th-2012 at 01:08 AM ---------- Oh, he absolutely has favorites, but I think he does a great job for the most part. The only other guy that I think could do a really good job as a color man on a UFC broadcast is Militech, and I don't think that is going to happen any time soon. Plus Joe brings in some casual fans, and that means extra bucks.
  10. Yep, I would be stunned. Never seen JDS in this much trouble.
  11. Yep. I was watching the fights with some people that did not know much about him, and I was telling them the same thing. I hope he regains some of his skills in time like Mir did, but he certainly is not the same guy right now.
  12. I really don't have much to add here, but this is a really good point Mike.
  13. I live in Charlotte and I was driving back home tonight and got into town at about 9. I passed a billboard with a SportsSouth ad that has the real-time Bobcats score on it when they are playing. I just stared at it. I could not believe that it was real.
  14. Thanks for bringing that up. I read about it a while back, and I meant to pick it up. Like many other things, I forgot. I never thought I would be reminded in the Wizards thread.
  15. And Hendo-Machida Superbowl weekend. As a Hendo homer, I have to say that I don't love the matchup, but it should be a good fight. http://mmajunkie.com/news/31523/dan-henderson-im-fighting-lyoto-machida-at-ufc-156-on-super-bowl-weekend.mma Shaping up to be a pretty good card so far: Champ Jose Aldo vs. Frankie Edgar - for featherweight title Dan Henderson vs. Lyoto Machida Rashad Evans vs. Antonio Rogerio Nogueira
  16. Not saying you are wrong, but when did this happen? I know there were some international numbered events that were shown via tape delay and some that were planned for Spike, but I can't remember a card that was shifted to Spike due to injusies on the card. Not saying it didnt happen, I just cant remember it. The logistics of that would seem to be very difficult.
  17. Teixeira, Cormier and Gustaffson at least present some intriguing matchups. I am excited about that Gustaffson-Shogun fight.
  18. Unbelieveable. Probably the most ridiculous 12 hours in UFC history.
  19. Well, this does not mean much, but Hieron was not supposed to be in that spot, it was supposed to be Koscheck. Koscheck-Ellenberger is not a main event caliber fight, but it is a damn good fight. And light years better than Ellenberger-Hieron.
  20. I doubt it. Hopefully this was his only chance at getting a shot at that belt. Because he does not even remotely deserve anything close to a title shot.
  21. On one side, I am pissed that I don't get a chance to see Hendo-Jones. On the other side, I am $54.95 richer.
  22. Somebody needs to take the microphone away from Dana. There are going to be some major fences that need to be mended.
  23. No doubt the card was garbage other than the main event.
